Smile BEAT LT or U-VA Techno?

Dear Guys,

Kindly suggest which car to go for,BEAT LT or U-VA Techno

OTR difference between BEAT LT & U-VA Techno is Rs.17,500/-. Kindly find the attached PDF/image for Pricing & Features.

Beat is a new car and U-VA a 4 year old model. I had a 2000KM+ drive experience in U-VA LT and recently did a 5KM Beat LS test drive. Beat is modern and composed but engine is harsh at high revs. 2nd gear is a pit stop before 3rd gear. But U-VA being a 4 year old model have unbelievable space (front & back), good ride, road manners, big car feel (like a sedan), smooth engine, super AC etc.

I am bit concern about U-VAs longevity in the market that it will phase-out for the new model. (any news regarding this)

I am planning to keep the car for 3 to 4 years. Car will be used for 70% Delhi-NCR and rest Highways. My OTR budget is 4.2L to 4.6L max.
Do U-VA Techno with Rs. 446000/- OTR price + 5 year warranty (Rs. 8400/-) + maintenance pack (Rs. 10000/-) a good deal. U-VAs spare parts cost is almost double than industry standard. What about Beats spare parts cost?

Can Beat owners confirm about 2nd gear pickup issue while climbing inclines, Engine harshness &millage factors and of course GC. U-VA LT back in Kochi is giving healthy 13 to 14 km/l with 100% AC in mixed conditions.

Both cars don't have ABS, EBD & Airbags. Is U-VA more sturdy than Beat?

Any other good cars (FIGO EXi arrived in the family day before yesterday) available in my budget (only petrol) with same equipment level of above said cars.

This car is for my Wify and I am madly waiting for Punto Sports 90BHP

Thanks in advance to all.

Cheers!

I'd prefer the funky new BEAT to the older U-VA which is not a looker.

If its only between the two that you are choosing:
No matter how you look at it the U-VA is a generation old rebadged daewoo kalos. And it shows.Resale will be a nightmare.
There's just no comparing it to the chevy beat which is an altogether new vehicle.

Thank you clevermax and octane1002.

Can anybody tell how long the current U-VA will be available in the market?

All Beat owners kindly help me out to clarify my doubts. I have to take the decision by mid May.

Cheers!

I may be late replying to this thread. But in case a decision is not made then I'd highly recommend the Beat to the U-VA.

Why would you want to go for an almost discontinued model to a latest car ?

Also have a serious look at the Ritz Petrol base Variant & the Punto Petrol. Both are good cars.

The Beat has a very different look to it, some like it and some hate it. I have mixed reactions when I see it. I love the front and side but for me the back is not so attractive.

But never the less a great car. Go for it any day over the U-VA.

Thank you very much vkochar

Our Beat LT White was delivered on 16 May 2010. Total value for money car. Nothing much to complain. I was tempted by UVA because of it's TECHNO Pack. The Delhi OTR for UVA-TECHNO is INR 446000 and BEAT LT is INR 428000. We have a UVA-LT (non ABS, Airbag version) back in Kerala and totally in love with it's ride, built quality, GC, roominess, etc.

Thank you once again for your valuable input.
