Lodge a complaint with Maruti. I am afraid you have already paid the charges, else you could flatly refuse everything that was not required and was not explicitly authorized by you. You could also lodge a consumer court case, but it will take a lot of time too, compared to the amount you have spent.

If your car is under warranty, you will have to stick to the authorized service centres. However I am sure you will find many others nearby. Wherever you go, please make sure you understand each and every item listed in the job card prior to signing it, and nothing is done to the vehicle that was not approved by you. When switching to a new service centre, you should talk to the works manager and make these points very clear to him.

I am shocked to see a bill of Rs.7000/- @10k serivce for an ALTO. I don't remember paying more than 2.5k for routine services, ever in the car's 91k history. Infact, my Scorpio's service bill hardly crosses 3.5k and till date it has done 54k's. Though Synthetic Oil is one of the culprit's here, but still.

Man, that is too damn expensive. You have surely been robbed in broad daylight.

Got a call from the said service station. The person on the other end said that the costs were fixed by maruti itself. When I grumbled on the Labour charges, he said that I will be given a discount on next service in a very patronizing tone.

I said no, thanks & put the phone down.

From the looks of it, the service station knows that I've been duped. These are mere measures of damage control.
