Thank you @Jeep for the much needed information. I would recommend you get the other post also merged with this thread. For your Esteem which shop had you tried earlier before using Carz? This is important for myself and many others as i am contemplating sending my Baleno to Suraksha in Silk Board Junction. If Carz is same cost and quality i would rather send it to Carz as its much closer to home (Walkable distance).

Gave my Baleno to Carz on Sarjapur road on Friday for basic servicing and some repairs which included AC, suspension and denting painting work. Till now i have been getting daily updates from the SA on the progress and has been able to answer all my questions. The Center being close to my house helps as i can drop in anytime to see the progress visually.

More precise feedback once i get the car back tomorrow.

Mayank,

Did you get the car ? How was their service ?

I have some minor denting/painting work to be done on my Cedia - A.S.S. quoted 10K+ while the guy @Carz said it would not be more than 6-7k. They also have cashless tie-up with my insurance company (Bajaj Allianz). I am planning to drop the car at their place tommorrow - if they are good i might as well shift even regular servicing to them.

They are good as of now, gave for regular service, some denting and painting apart from some Bumper work (Which i did not wish to change, as it keeps getting bumped in Bangalore).

For rear door and panel denting and painting they charged about 6K which seems very reasonable.

Only problem, they do manual billing, which is prone to errors hence one needs to watch what is being put in.

Thumbs down Re: CarZ, a multi-brand service outlet, enters the Bangalore market

The Sparky needed a service very bad and the fact that the Trident Service Center was at the other end of the town did not help. So, had to give the car to Carz.

Since its been almost 3.5 years, decided to go for the TB cleaning (though I knew it was a sham ).

Anyways, I guess they did the rest of the regular stuff OK but they have royally screwed up the TB settings.
The idle is erratic. The Acc pedal is getting stuck. Revs go up on its own and needs prodding and pulling at the gas pedal to get back to normal.
If these guys cannot get the basics right, they shouldnt touch a car! Not very pleased with what they have done.

Angry Re: CarZ, a multi-brand service outlet, enters the Bangalore market

Horror stories continues.

After they took one day to identify why the idle was set high and finally reset it to factory location, I took the delivery of the car.

The very next day, the Engine Check light came on!

Took the car back to Carz. Again.

These folks are running a multibrand car service and they do not have a OBD scanner!! So, basically, they are not sure why the light is on!

They fiddled around with some wires (one mechanic commented that the O2 Sensor is gone kaput!) managed to get the light off for some time.

Over the weekend, the light came back on again.

I would strongly recommend to NOT go to this place ever!

They cannot service a simple bone stock petrol car without any mechanical issues and end up making things worse. Seems like these jokers are no better than those at Carnation! The worst bit was the shameless nature of the SA/Floor Manager.

Now I need to drive down to Kalyannagar to Trident to get this sorted!

I have been seeing this outlet on Sarjapur Road as it is on my daily route. Somehow, I am not confident with the multi-brand outlets, for anything other than regular oil change and mechanicals (like brakes, etc). Anything related to engine or electronics cannot be trusted upon, unless you have a Maruti or a Hyundai. Almost 90% of the mechanics would have learnt working on Maruti or Tata or Hyundai, going by the volume of cars on the road and the service centers. And diagnosing of problems solely depend on the expertise of the mechanic.

How is the paint shop? And how much do they charge, e.g. for a bumper repaint?

Thumbs down Re: CarZ, a multi-brand service outlet, enters the Bangalore market

Have had a bad experience last week at the Sarjapur road outlet. Had to get the oil changed for my Ikon and had asked for the brakes to be checked up. Get a call from the SA saying that upon inspection they find the wheel cylinders needing replacement along with brake liners (on the rear). He also mentioned about a possible leak in the coolant for which the replacement part(s) would cost 3K. I gave consent to carry out only the wheel cylinder replacement. While taking delivery, asked the SA to show me the leak in the coolant and he was unable to point me. He then called the mechanic and the mechanic struggled for a while and even suggested that the coolant leak might be in some other vehicle!!

Any case, after a day's driving, I observed that the rear brakes made screeching/grating sound whenever applied. I took the car back the next morning and left the vehicle at 9:30 AM. SA calls me at 3 PM (after my constant follow-up) and says that there was rust in the liners and hence the sound. When I asked how come new liners have rust and why it was not checked before replacing, no answers. Finally, they cleaned up (apparently) the liners and returned the car back. I still have some noise when I brake hard, but definitely would not want to go back to them. Will have it to take it to the Ford A.S.S. soon.

I suspect the part was not changed. Please ask them to hand over the old part to you and get the package of the new part whenever any part is changed during service.

Serviced the car (Accent 1.6) a couple of weeks back at CARZ.

It was a 65K service. Not much was done. It was a regular service and check-up. Bill was some 2.7K. Clutch pedal was squeaky and was fixed. Horn was changed. Engine valve cover gasket was changed as there were traces of oil.

I feel that they are getting customers mostly for painting and denting only.

Had been to Carz today to get a few battle scars of Civvy attended to. Also got the engine oil and Brake pads changed from there.

The body work was quite decent.

I had a dent on the boot lid, which they attended to decently.

I will write a detailed report soon.
