Do you know what BEML has quoted as waiting period for the Swift Diesel???

Its 8 Months. Yes 8 months.

for the Swift Zxi it was 1 month.

ZX4 is available immediately.

Now what's happening? Are they playing choosy/pricey coz Getz diesel is too highly priced?

The waiting period they quote varies from person to person.
Bimal gave me 3 months, RNS gave me 3-6 months. Even the Maruti helpline isn't very helpful. It looks like my booking is going to be canceled.

This is being crazy. What is Maruti trying to prove? Or is really that they are so overbooked??

Man oh man, I thought Id sorted out the situation regarding my delivery but now 6 weeks later the story has not changed one bit. I have a feel that somewhere along the line the sales guy has started lying to me again.

Its close to 4 months now. Time to pay them a visit.

I live in cochin, after getting tired of waiting for the car to be delivered, I told popular motors that the car was ready at indus and that i would buy it from them next week if popular were'nt interested in selling me the vdi.

the 3 month wait shortened miraculously to 3 days. maybe you should try that. be convincing, flash the business card from the rival dealers and give them a quote for the old car you're exchanging..that sort of thing.

of course it helps if you know the dealers well( our family purchased 20 M800s over the last 15 yrs and a zen diesel- all from popular)

if the dealer calls your bluff then you're in trouble. guess i was lucky

now have an ozone blue vdi which runs like a dream, its been 3 weeks since i even touched my accent CRDI

all the best guys

s0uljah so you didnt canceled your Swift?
Mine is already came and today going for registration and tomorrow ill be getting the delivery.
Looks like busy week for me for getting her new shoes, alloys etc. Will put the pics guys.
Dealers are for sure playing around as mine was suppose to come last month but i think they alloted to someone who paid them premium, as last week i blasted them that show me that the Swift alloted to me is in my name only or someone elses Swift you gave it to me this month. They dont have any answers so be careful.
Also got my loan from PNB @11.5% and today saw ad of SBI quoting just 11% for limited time due to festival time.

Booked a CRDI on 28th Sept but retained my VDi ABS booking too, now the Getz doesnt seem so appealing.

[quote=P1tBull;610149]You really like the 800 taht much ?

I know this is OT but just replying to P1tbull

Yes p1tbull,i do like the 800 that much. my last 2 800s were the mpfi ones, the ones with cojones, not the castrated ones that came out after they started pushing the alto MPFIs. yes, 20 M800s over 15 years . all of them ran 1 lakh plus, never broke down, suffered all the abuse we and the kerala roads could throw at them, and when sold still held a great resale price.

Thats why i'm still a maruti fan boy

Searched on the net and also in magazines. Here's the information on the delay for Swift cars.

Maruti Suzuki is setting up their second plant in Maneswar near Gurgaon. This is going to be for Swift diesel and petrol cars.

This is expected to be fully operational by December '07 end.
After the existing backlog is cleared (which might happen by March/April '08 timeframe), the delivery queue will not be there.

In the existing plant, out of the diesel engines being manufactured, only 2500 are for India while the rest is being exported by Suzuki.

The ABS assembly line for Swift diesel has been dismantled in the existing plant and is yet to be re-assembled in the Maneswar plant. Till this happens, Swift VDI with ABS will not be available.

Each dealer (in Bangalore) is getting about 10 diesel swifts per month.
There's a MLA quota also !.

Each dealer is taking about 50k as the booking amount (some dealers are taking 10k) and this is not being paid to Maruti Suzuki. Each dealer in Bangalore has around 200 VDI bookings and about 100 LDI bookings. So you can calculate the amount of booking money they have to play around with.

Your source please. If this is true Iv been played for the last 2 months.

Also how do you I go about writing to Maruti or get it to the attention of Mr.Khattar? Im thinking most faxes will be destroyed and not make its way there. Would this be it ?

Default VDI with ABS

Regarding VDI with ABS, heard this in Pratham Motors.
I bought my vehicle there.

Regarding writing to Mr. Jagadish Khattar, a registered letter with ack due and a fax should be fine.

Maruti recently gave a one page ad recently and said that for all bookings on Swift and SX4, from the 16th day onwards, they would give a interest of 24% per anum.

However dealers in Bangalore at least are claiming that they are not aware of this.

Regards
Ravi.
