Swift diesel delivery woes - Page 18 - Team-BHP

Apparently Swift(D) still has a very long waiting period.
I have contacted few dealers (DD, Competent etc.). The least waiting period is from DD which is saying appprox 1-1.5 month[which i think might extend later]. Others are all quoting about 2.5-3 Months.
This really frustrating since I need a car badly and this waiting period is pushing me to look at the Palio MJD now.. which I dont want to buy.

Can anyone please suggest how to get the car as early as possible?
A dealer in Gurgaon has asked for a premium of Rs 16k for a fast delivery.

Help guys!!

@ Revved_ Up- Swift D's waiting period is way better than before. Most dealers i know are quoting 1-2 months. Whatever happens do not pay the premium of 16k for faster delivery. Try inquiring from other dealers about wait period.

I agree that paying a premium for a faster delivery is not a logical thing to do.

I would try visiting some dealers during the weekend to check whose giving the best deal.

Also, does having some connections with the dealer or MSIL help?? If yes, I would try pulling some strings here and there.

Yes, it does help. My friend got his swift in a week, delivered from Magic Auto, Dwarka. Second option he told me was the Marketing Times, some dealer I guess. You can try both.

Magic Auto Dwarka is quoting a waiting a waiting period of 2.5 months.
Another option they are giving is to take their accessories package worth about 25K and get delivery as soon as the load is approved. Now I know that the accessories package is definitely overpriced and is also not that good quality wise also.

Apparently there are more than 1 Magic Auto, I got a call from another one and he said that he can get the car delivered immediately provided I agree to give away the payout on the loan which is 4% of the loan amount. I am not sure what this payout is all about but I am guessing that this is some kind of discount that one gets.
Now suppose if i take a loan of 4lakhs so it is like again paying them a premium of about 16K

Then try some DSA for finance and get the car through them. I think this way you can get it earlier then usual.

OT:NOT many of us in delhi know about a new dealer in south delhi,AAA vehicleades.try them,they are new ,should deliver quickly

Sure it does. There are 3 MSIL dealers in my city . I had actually booked my Swift Vxi through Ambal which is one of the best dealer. All dealers were quoting me 3 months waiting ( This was around Jan '08). I somehow used influence and got the car faster. I waited more than 2 months for Swift P

Can any one confirm if the waiting time for Swift Vdi is over 4 months in most parts of India??? Thats what I have been told by a dealer in Chandigarh.

If someone knows any dealer in north where I can get a quick delivery without waiting that long then please help me out with the info.

Any help appreciated.

You can try AAA in Delhi. Gurpreet got his VDI delivered from them in 10 days. Infact, any new dealer will be able to get it delivered in a short time. There is another dealer in Pitampura in Delhi who has opened shop last month. Try to get some member from Delhi to find out for you if you are comfortable to take delivery from Delhi. Best of luck.

Yes in jalandhar also its 4 months aprox. I enquired from many other places , but got same reply. Try some backward area dealership, as demand in such areas is not high but they get their fixed quota of cars. Also I heard waiting time in himachal is less.
Dealers are demanding 30-40k premium for instant delivery. Many are putting unnecessary accessories & asking huge price, Maruti had banned this practice recently, but dealers dont seem to care.

AAA was 20-25 days VDi and around 30 days for ABS a month back.
