Dear markiv

This reminds me of the accident my brother had in my Palio 1.6 way back in 2005. my car was also as smashed up as yours though luckily my brother escaped unharmed (the car actually rammed straight into a roundabout as the rear wheel came off !!)

i had the same kind of experience with sanmati motors they also took like 3 months to repair the car and they screwed the car up and almost six months after getting the car repaired the rear wheel again came off. but the dealership is shut now.

its hightime that fiat stood up and try to rein in its exceptionally retarded dealers and do some thing about redeeming some part of its reputation which is already in the dirt.

lets hope your car comes out of this ordeal as cracking as this little rocket is

best of luck (with fiat you need it)

thanks for your concern buddy. btw just curious as to what happened with your 1.6, did the rear wheel come off just like that? Havn't heard that before!
And do you have the car still or disposed it?

[quote=markiv;492328]well thats some suggestion!! what they gave me in writing (in email) was that all the parts have arrived. This was first week of june.

Email communications are admissable as evidence in court

Default Update

Decided to not go to consumer court, after learning of the year long saga for the Metro ford guy on this forum.

Its been a long and excruciating wait to get my baby back.

here is the update:

- All the parts finally are here and fitting done.
- Engine mounted and ready for testing. Was supposed to be started in the evening
- If all turns out well post testing of the engine, car would be ready by the weekend max.
- Surveyor's inspection and cashless claim processing will be next hurdly. currently no cashless arrangement between the dealer and my insurance co. - Keeping my fingers crossed so that theres no issue with the engine (refitted with a new crankcase)

Few queries:

- I am guessing that I will have to run-in the engine again!!
- I noticed that there is a cut along the tyre tread, not too marked though. Can I get the tyre replaced. I think 50% will be out of my pocket

Here are the pics of the car as last seen (last saturday):-

Good to hear that your long suffering is over. To imagine that it takes 6 months to repair a car. Then how long do the Italians/Tata take to manufacture one. Typical Italian (or is it Tata) efficiency. A leopard (or tiger?) never changes its spots, and all talk from Mr. Marchionne is not being translated onto the ground. Linea/Punto hype-sters please note.

Finally, since you spent the Delhi monsoon on a bike (good for you that Delhi had a rainfall deficit in 2007), be happy that you shall be spending the winters in the warmth of a car.

h My GOD...Markiv...you had a dreadful experience with the A.S.S!!

Gosh...should I stay back to buy the Palio Stile 1.6???

I'm worried abt the A.S.S and especially in Navi Mumbai with Fortune Cars...

Any experience as such with Fortune here???
