Skoda Repair Shop in Kolkata? - Team-BHP

Hi,

Do you guys have any idea about good mechanic/garage in Kolkata where I can take my Skoda Octavia (2.0 MPI) for an Engine Tuning and some routine servicing e.g A.C gas refilling etc. I am tired of A.S.S Topaz Motors. They just search for every occasion to make more money for a simple repair (guess that's standard for any A.S.S)

Hi Dibbasu. As of now, you have no options other than Topaz. No other workshop has the VAG scan. By engine tuning, what exactly do you mean? Do you want to bump up the power?
For AC related work, you could try Daga Automobiles. They are located beside the Imperial Honda showroom. Daga is quite popular when it comes to AC related stuff.

Thanks a lot. Do you have Daga's no? My car is currently doing 51K; and AC was never serviced. Its not cooling as compared to last summer. I am assuming I have to refill the gas. The reason I wanted to see an experienced mechanic was:

1. I was going to Maithon last week.
2. The car was giving problem in second gear when it was very hot. By problem I mean I was not getting engine response.
3. When I stopped the car restarted it it was not giving the usual check sound while all the warning light comes up.
4. Waited for an hour or so. I guess it cooled down the engine and everything was back to normal.

Any clue - Sir?

He asked me rs. 1400 for my total santro a/c servicing. Is it okay?

Hi Cediaowner,

It is more than OK. BTW I got my one serviced by them. They normally charge 1400/= for standard gas and 2200/= for some high-end gas. I got it refilled by 2200/=. Do you think it is too much. AC is working fantastic now.

@ Dibbasu - What was the total cost at Daga? How long did they take?
For general maintenance of your Octy, there is one place you could visit. They don't have the VAG. But, they are extremely competent. You'll have to arrange for the parts that need replacement. Let me know if you are interested.

What high end gas? Gas is just R134a only!!

yeah you paid more!! 1400 is okay!

Do you think I paid more. They told me there are two kinds of brands of the GAS. One costs 1400/= is local made. Any clue?
