Great idea!!

You may be able to throw some light on the other common questions in Team-BHP aswell:

Will Hyundai launch Getz CRDI with ABS?
Will Hyundai replace Getz with a new model, possibly i20?
Why Hyundai is showing step motherly attitude to Getz?
What will be the fate of Santro after the launch of i10?

Please ignore the questions if you are not supposed to reveal any information on a public forum. I am just excited to see a Hyundai sales guy here.

You forgot a few:

When is the i10 auto coming out?
When is the new elantra coming out?
When is the Sonata Embera facelift being launched.

No, I do not agree. Hyundai, if anything, does not market strongly enough to dispel some myths about Maruti cars. Santro vs Swift is a pretty fair comparison, one that was considered by many potential buyers before deciding on their choice. Ditto with i10. My relatives are considering whether to buy Swift or i10, and I am strongly recommending i10 to them, taking into account many factors.

I'm with Kaushik on this one.
In this specific case, I am not taking sides as nobody can be sure as to what exactly transpired. It is true that many authorized dealerships exhibit abysmal ignorance about their cars. In this respect, my experience is that Maruti is much worse than Hyundai. It is also true that there are many Hyundai haters on this forum, who exaggerate minor flaws in Hyundai cars (especially Santro) while ignoring those in Maruti cars (including Swift).

And now why do you want to bring in your bring up and family?

Lets move on. 6 posts after Kausiks post and you have not responded to that post, but made many others; why?

Do respond to the one that needs a response from you!
Firstly I said Hyundai cars are competitvely priced, infact i even said that swift has got a wonderful engine, however its a bit too cramped. Lastly I said airbags and are not safe if seat belts are not fastened. I also said they have killed people who ignored the seat belts, which my friend has not heard at all. Not for once did I put my competitor down.

Hyundai were the one that came out with the ad campaign directly against Maruti WagonR. The 4 seater vs 5 seater was started by them. There was another string of strong adverts against Maruti started by hyundai which I don't recollect.

Anyway I've already told exactly what have happened. And please do ask your manager what I've told him when he talked to me in the morning. I told him that I don't even need a apology but just an assurance that the salesperson shouldn't give wrong information or try to demean other companies. You can ask him if I've mentioned anyone's name to satisfy my personal grudge or whatever you want to make other's believe.
And about your manager's name, I was in a hurry to go to office that time and you can't expect me to remember it correctly after a grueling day at office, right ? Still I said Feroze which I guess quite near to Fareed, right ?
And about tarnishing Trident's name, haven't I mentioned that I was so pleased to have a test vehicle so promptly? Where did I tried to tarnish their or Hyundai's name?
Regards,
Kaushik

Mods, if you think the post is not appropiate please delete it, I've posted it so that I can atleast give a conclusion from my side. I hope it's correct.
Yes you are absolutely right! Feroze and Fareed. They are very close indeed. Try telling this to all the forum members. Come on BHPians I request all of you to reply to this.

I can still take this coming from a sales person.

But believe it or not "Anti Braking System" was what I saw mentioned in a SkodaRS one page company colour brochure. I think I still have it somewhere. Remember me and @Razor having a royal laugh over it.

Surely a typo - but still .....

Have you even driven both the cars to compare the i10 to Swift? Its really no joke. Its like comparing a mule to a horse. The i10 has worse ride quality, worse acceleration, less space, worse handling, worse driver comfort. All it has going for it is FE. The build quality may be slightly better but I'm not sure about that either.

Anyway its beyond the point. Its good to see Trident being so serious about any lapses on the part of their sales people. Good going and I hope the sales guy comes out of this a bit more educated about safety systems in cars than before.

Some of your questions can be better answered by the top management of Hyundai. No the Santro will not cease to exist because it's target customers are the first time car buyers. i-10 is the step up.

DISCLAIMER:Whatever information I have given about Hyundai cars is my knowledge which has been accquired from reading magazines and browsing web pages. And I am not an official spokesman of HMIL. HMIL is no way directly or indirectly involved in my views or information about the cars.

I do not agree. Both Hyundai and Maruti engage in mudslinging with their advertisements. 4 seater vs 5 seater advertisement from Hyundai and mileage, cost comparison adverisement from Maruti are testimony for this.

@inflames. I understood that the reason you joined was to clear your and your organisations name.

I do not know Kaushik, neither do I know you. Without any bias, to me, Kaushik's version somehow rings true. There would be some who might believe your side of the story and some, like me, who won't. It's just perceptions, based on what we read here.

I just hope that your very purpose of posting on this thread does not backfire and end up tarnishing the perception about you and your company/dealership further.

Cheers

The points and counter points have been made, mods I guess we can close the thread.

Could you please explain how the comparison between Santro & Swift is being fair? On what aspect?

It was this ad by Hyundai comparing their product with Maruti's providing misleading information about the Swift and Maruti went to court and the court instructed Hyundai had to pull that ad out.

And i am not a 'Hyundai car' hater. But somehow never did like their marketing ethics of the company.

I don't want to comment on you recommending i10 over Swift to your friend's and relatives, maybe i10 is what suits their needs the best or you believe so.

Swift is a class above the i10 or the Santro.

Regarding this case, well, misconceptions do occur. Put them behind and move forward. I have mentioned several our such experiences when we were hunting for a 7-7.5 lakh car.

All of these came from Fiat and Tata dealership sales people

ABS is bad as it causes collissions.

When someone comes in front of you, you brake hard. Your wheels lock. Your car automatically looses direction and ends up in adjacent lane. Now, when you have ABS, your wheels dont lock and you continue in straight line hitting the object in the front. so it causes accident.

She showed me that standard picture of the deviations of cars with/without ABS to support her point.

ANTI BRAKE SKIDDING.
Well, I am having stomachache after laughing for 30 minutes.

Hyundai Dealer in Vadodara in October 2005, when we were considering accent, said, Dont wear seatbelts, in case of accident you cant jump.
We jumped out of the dealership desite being offered heavy discounts.
NCAP( I was referring to Euro NCAP) to him was National Car Analysis Provision.

GM was good for Corsa. The salesman knew everything and to those questions he could not answer, he said, sorry , I dont know, if you want I can call service engineer for details.

Kamdhenu Honda: Honda city idsi does not have two spark plug/cld in order to reduce maintanence cost. City has very effecient crumple zones that no other car in the segment has! After complain we received a call for saying sorry for the wrong information they provided.

When 800 came out in Padmini and HM days, people said that it was slim wheels, and very poor sheet metal so its not safe. 800 from day one has crumple zones. But the image spoiled of Maruti in those early days is yet to go.
At Maruti Dealership, Swift had ABS and Baleno didnt is because Baleno is bigger and stronger car, so it wont need ABS ( as of October 05 ).
Bajaj DTSI Specialist: I dont know what is bore and stroke. DTSI can easily do without these technologies. No wonder from three bajaj vehicles, we have one from other dealer than Bore one.

So this is a common phenomenom and is rampant in Gujarat. People say higher wattage bulb lets say 65W will give less light than 45W and will be blown early. where as the 65W will emit more heat and so will have slightly lower life, giving less light is undigestable.
I had tough time finding Halogen 45W bulb for Caliber ( the 7.7bhp caliber had 45/45W bulb ).

This is something we have to live with. Its very tough to deal with these people, but we have to. The best policy is to decide what we want and straight tell them "Give me what I want". Nothing else can solve this problem.
