| hi all!! this is my first post in this forum. I have been a regular visitor on this site since last 5 months. And i am really impressed by the knowledge , passion of the members of this esteem forum.Indirectly you guys helped me out in choosing Hyundai Santro. I read all the posts regarding the car on this thread including long term reviews and it really helped me alot. Thanks!! Well the only mistake i did was not to join 5 months back and enquire about the exchange bonus to fellow members. I just read about the car and decided. Now it is haunting me.I really did not want to start on this exceptional forum by speaking negatives about particular dealership or car make but last weeks incident has left me with bitter taste and now i really need sound advice from you guys. I purchased Santro from Charsima Hyundai Chandigarh in March 2008 after selling my beloved daewoo cielo. As most of you must be aware that they have a scheme that once we sell our old car and deposit required documents confirming the sale of car and idenitity of new buyer and purchase new hyundai car they offer exchange bonus of Rs 10,000. Ok we did all the paper work and submitted it to the dealer who after cross checking the documents says OK. You money will come with in 2-3 months. Fine time passes by and i enquire after two months no response , after three months and i am told i will recieve money in first week of july. Fine July comes i wait, first week passes no calls from dealership. I send mail to Hyundai copy of which they effieciently pass onto the dealer to get in touch with me which they dont. Now in third week of July i call up at dealership and they say to my horror your exchange bonus claim has been rejected Reason Given: You have submitted affidavit which Hyundai does not accept. Then when i ask them why did you say the papers are ok when we were submitting it to you they say unofficially after much of persuation that we have been wrongly advised as the person who said ok was not comptent authority.They advice me to call to hyundai directly. I call up at Chandigarh office they say its been looked after in Delhi. I call up at Delhi and Some Ms. Gupta says we have already closed all the issues of march. You ask your dealership to get special request from Regional Office Chandigarh and forward it to us. Suggest me guys what to do now? Last edited by Rehaan : 2nd August 2008 at 05:50. I had a similar problem with Baltic Faridabad two years back. You should have asked for this rebate upfront while you were doing negotiations with the dealer. All I can suggest is to bug your dealer to resubmit the claims with correct papers.

| Two weeks ago, I exchanged my 2003 Santro Xing (which i bought at Hyundai Motor Plaza, Chennai) for an i10 Kappa (also from the same dealership). The exchange bonus was offered upfront, by deducting from the money I had to pay for the purchase of the new car. The sales girl (who had handled the purchase of the Santro, five years ago, and who took care of my i10 purchase now) said that normally the exchange bonus is paid after RC transfer certificates are submitted, albeit within two months deadline! I guess, you missed the fine print of the this deadline. Why was I treated preferentially? B'cos (according to the sales girl), I had bought and sold my old car thru HMP (the old car was actually sold thru FirstSource, which was referred by HMP, when I approached HMP to get my old car sold - thus FirstSource is a sort of an inhouse used car dealer for HMP in Chennai!) I believe, the sales guy, in the excitment to get your business, had misrepresented (or omitted) the fine print. Such things happen, b'cos, like insurance agents, these sales guys have monthly targets and incentives. naveen |

| well you are a lucky man naveen! unfortunatelly Charisma Hyundai, Chandigarh from where i purchased the car did not provide me with this fecilitation (of exchanging old car).So we had to sell it out to dealer. i tell you man this dealership is notorious and i will call them nothing less than cheaters. whatever there sales people promised never fulfilled. and can you believe its been 5 months since we bought the car, no followup, no nothing regarding car care ( compare this to maruti service when i gave 1/5 in the feed back form for rattles, the dealership guy stood two days in front of my office to take my esteem to rectify the fault). my blood boils when i visit them. They show no concern at all. And why should they, i didnot bought it on loan from them, i did not get it iced from them,it was my bad luck i went there and they coaxed me into central locking which other dealer was not offering. last week i asked for all the documents which i had submitted for exchange bonus and they dont have my file. i wrote on this forum as i know there are quite a few learned person i thought will guide me out of this but unfortunately that also didnot happen. its not matter of mere 10,000 rupees.its the trust , genuinity , loyalty of the company towards its consumers which reflects in these actions and that is hurting. i have lost all hope and have stopped following up.

| Senior - BHPian | OT but Ive had bad experiences with charisma hyundai chandigarh, a funny instance when i gave my elantra for service they offered me a free service(just labour=1200bucks)if i made someone buy a hyundai car from their dealership.
