Yes, very much possible. However, open a savings account in the same branch and the minimum balance to maintain is just 1k, this will give you the option of viewing your car loan balance also online. You can also transfer additional funds to the car loan account whenever you want.

Of course it is. Even if it was not possible, opening a new SBI savings account is a one day affair.

Thanks VintageSree. Did you take a loan recently ?

Also is there any difference between taking a loan directly from the bank or via the dealer from the same bank. The dealer claims that same terms and conditions is applicable via them as well. Not sure how the dealer is getting benefited. Or is the dealer just facilitating for the benefit of the customer.

You're welcome. I'm a banker so happen to know.

If it is the same bank, there would not be any difference between approaching them directly or via the dealer. In the latter case, the dealer gets some incentives from the bank, which, ironically, is not passed on to the customer in either case.

BTW, I forgot to mention that stamp duty is specific to each state. In the Telugu states, it's 0.5 % (agreement with hypothecation)

+1 to this. You can also close the loan account online if the savings account is opened in the same branch.

Default Insurance renewal for Vento

Insurance for my Vento (bought in 2013) is up for renewal this week and I received a renewal quote from Bajaj Allianz (current insurer also) and ICICI Lombard. There's a difference about 8-9K on the quote and ICICI quote is lesser.

Both are comprehensive insurance coverage policies.

The main difference, I feel, is the Drive Assure Economy package premium that's included in Bajaj Allianz.

Any suggestion or advise which one should I opt for ? Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks in advance.

Any of you know what is the latest car loan interest rate from SBI? And is there a reduced rate for women?
Google search shows me 9.70 for June 2016 and that is what the car dealer also telling me. Is there a scope for negotiation?

I think SBI does have a lower rate for women, You should get it by 9.50, Trying getting a quote from different banks.

There is scope for negotiation at the branch manager level depending on customer profile and loan amount. Recently a friend got a 9.5 % from a new HDFC branch

What options do we have in the market now for 100% funding? No pre-payment or part-payment charges on top of that would be a treat.

If you have a salary account, check with that bank. They will most likely have that option. I had that with HDFC, unfortunately, my salary account changed just this month. SBI has 9.7% with no processing fee, no part payment or pre-closure fees as per an agent I met. Don't know if they fund 100% though.

Hello Everyone - would you know if SBI still offer this type of loan (SBI Advantage Car Loan) - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-car-loan.html (The Cheap Loan or the Smart Loan - SBI Advantage Car Loan)

Or if there are any other comparable products by them or other banks?
