| Team-BHP Support ![]() | After the divorce with Renault, Mahindra actually managed to improve the Logan's sales. The sedan has consistently sold over 1,000+ monthly units, thanks in no small part to Mahindra repositioning the Logan as an entry-level sedan. Now, Mahindra rebadges the Logan as the "Mahindra Verito". Mahindra says the car will sport the Mahindra badge and emblem. Net net, no brand association with Renault at all. Obviously, it's licensing agreements at play here too. Renault / Dacia wouldn't allow Mahindra to use its "Logan" brand infinitely. | It is indeed a good news. With the smaller (should I say Leaner and Fitter) Verito, Mahindra should be able to achive what Logan could not. I think with this, they should be able to target 1500 cars a month? |

| Absolutely mahindra has done well to position the car better, and the sales charts are proof. mahindra is doing for the logan what renault themselves couldn't manage, once the logan is mahindranised i am sure we will see sales going up even further. Way to go Mahindra ~ Respect. Last edited by mdsaab : 25th April 2011 at 17:25. |

| Since they have the flexibility now, I think they should create a separate variants for taxi and private segments, so that the private owners will not feel that taxi image by owning one. This may also contribute to the better sales. One bad thing IMO about M&M, initially they will price vehicles really well and in the next few years, they would increase the prices marginally. Eg: Scorpio when launched was around 6L and today it is retailing at 13L (2WD). The functional changes one could notice on Scorpio are Better Engine (Di Turbo to Crde to mHawk), ABS, Rear Suspension and Airbags. Hope they dont kill one of the most VFM sedan Verito by their crazy pricing strategies. Last edited by 2500cc : 25th April 2011 at 17:30. |

| GTO, is Mahindra also working on reducing the size of the car to below 4m levels, for obvious tax benefits reasons. Is the new vehicles coming within this criteria. Do we have any news about this? I am asking this because earlier there were news that Mahindra is also working on engineering this part to obtain tax benefits. |

| Well, Since they "own" the platform now, would they not make huge profit by launching a small car? It may be ugly, but can give tough competition to key Euro or Japanese players. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Added this link (Mahindra goes solo with the Logan. Renault exits Mahindra-Renault JV) to the opening post. Gawdy chrome coming your way! Quote:
If the Logan was priced well from day one, it could have actually been a successful sedan. Whether Mahindra's optimism, or Renaults, no one knows. Quote:
Yup, coming out very soon. Even the Dzire CS (sub-4 meter variant) is just around the corner.

| Hi I liked the logan and kudos to mahindra for standing by their product. I was thinking why not bring out a hatchback with the same engine. I for one would definitely consider it plus without a sad looking rear the sales might reach 1500plus easily. Cheers |

| @ GTO, What's the meaning of Verito? Any idea? Sounds similar to Vento. Many M&M vehicles ends with "O". Any particular idea behind it ? Or Mahindra is just superstitious about it? I guess with new name, logo & Only Mahindra badge will definitely increase sales numbers for the car. I hope they have done some really nice changes in the car with new name ![]() |

| So how does this work ? A profit of the sales of Verito / Logan will go to Renault? How long can Mahindra keep this car under their brand? Guess there is a time frame that's given for this by the Renault guys? And what exactly did Mahindra do to improve the sales of Logan - I am not really sure I saw any posts in this regard. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | It would have been nice to see some additional features, styling updates to coincide with the new name. Old Wine, Old bottle and New label ! Quote:
BTW, Verito means truth in Latin.

| So except for the branding the car remains the same or do we have some more Mahindra induced technical changes. How come Renault is still supplying engines and other important machinery after the divorce of the joint venture? |

| BHPian | I too have the same question to ask as posted by SPARKled will there be any changes to the interior styling of the car or would that be just a change in the name |

| BHPian | I hope now that Mahindra has acquired the logan, it will rectify and relaunch the car as per Indian driving styles. I own a logan and found it kind of difficult to adjust to everything that was the other way round. For instance, the glass rolling handles, the wiper blade lever, the turn indicator lever, the bonnet opening lever, the AC blower lever and what not !! Hope Mahindra has already taken care of these things, Other than these small things, the car is absolutely fantastic and i feel that it will now have a better market that it actually deserves. |
