| There is a side profile picture of the cs version in autocar india website. It gives an idea how the boot would look considering the reduction in the boot size. SCOOP! Sub-4 metre Ambassador | Autocar India |

| If in case HM has an R&D department, the engineers there would be the happiest as they would be paid, but the management would ask then not to research anything or to develop absolutely nothing! The Ambassador CS looks like no engineer worked on it. It actually looks like some carpenter with a very powerful saw just sliced the trunk ![]() |

| Going bit further, why HM needs to work hard and come-up with such innovative models! I bet they could make more money, and even it makes better business sense (to me as an aam-aadmi) that they just open some good workshops for their existing (I mean whoever brought Amby till date) customers and take care of all these ageless beauties. In that way they will get more business and more respect from even non-customers like us. |

| BHPian | Thanks, My present job deals with a 2.2L engine, therefore i had not really bothered to find out. Almost all sub 4 meter hatches in the market are 1.3/1.4 therefore i wrongly assumed it as 1.4 |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Better HM, can kill the product instead of making such awkward models and making people criticize. The sales of some 300 numbers/ year are made by people who knows the pros and cons of the product, but still wanted it for the love they have on this - means they are not worried about the price. If price is the only concern, HM can definitely give a discount of some 25 to 30K - which they will achieve by doing this, and have saved some money they spent in doing this shorter version. The iconic brand with the wrong hands inside HM. |

| Even assuming HM are able to engineer and build this car to reasonably good quality standards it looks like a case of "too little too late" to me. In addition, if they are going with the sub 4m vehicle, they need to put in a sub 1.2 petrol or 1.5 diesel. Unless they have access to some suitable engine, that will also become another mess. Would like to see the Mitsubishi part of HM do well, but can't see HM itself doing well given their product range. A few people will buy the Amby but I can't see enough buying it for the company to survive |
