| I voted for san storm for its poor quality. But why is omni getting so much flake? It serves the purpose of moving people and luggage like in an auto. It is not designed to take headon collusions with a bullock cart... leave alone other vehicles. If safety is the reason for the critisicm, then M800 is worst too if not better. Conan |

I have done that. About 21 years back I rammed into a bullock cart at full speed on my Hero cycle. It was pitch dark, I was riding on the left side of the road and the bullock cart was coming on the wrong side. Both of us had no light. The cycle handle hit the center shaft of the cart and came to a halt with me standing between the massive heads of two bulls. No one was hurt including the bulls and cycle. That would make my former Hero cycle more resilient than Omni.![]()

| Senior - BHPian | has to be the omni from this lot. but given another option, it would have to be the reva- a very good first effort no doubt, but flimsy build quality, limited range, lack of space, and some other minute factors make it one of the worst cars ever. as for the sumo vs. scorpio, having driven both, i can say that the sumo turbo is pretty much as good as the scorpio in terms of handling and performance. but the scorpio crde is slightly better than the sumo in both respects. one thing to be noted is that the scorpio twitches and rolls at high speeds, anything above 100, whereas the the sumo exhibits nervousness, and only gets a li'l hairy above 130 kmph;but the steering feedback and brake/servo feel of sumo is far better. nevertheless, both cars are okay, and serve the purpose they are built for....

| Mahindra Armada End of Discussion ! Unsafe, drum brakes and a failure prone steering...... Other candidates would be the Maruti Van /Omni and the Sumo. And not the Tempo Trax - it's a license built G wagen ! - Not the same as what the west gets but still in 4x4 form , it'll be good - it's wide and not too high so the stability is definitely better than the damned Sumo....

| How do you say that? The question poser did a vanishing act (not bothering to clarify Even dceite's post) and we're all onto safety and the lack of it in the Omni.[/quote] |

| omni. period. personally experienced the highly performing and safest car on indian roads. just ignore the bomb under your seat ( they make it lpg, dont they?) and steel ram on the front ( the front guys are sure to get all the thud in the ram sheet) . and most taxi drivers ( with 1991 or older model omni/van) truly consider themselves to be behind a certain porche. and the horns are taken stright out of a locomotive/ship. i firmly believe that there is no better suicidal 4-wheeler than this one, probably in the global market too. P.S: my uncle' omni did 4 somersaults on the highway, ending up 1 m away from a kiosk on the other side of the road.he was just too lucky to come out with just a few bruises. there were another 7 accidents in omni' that day on that highway. he was the only one to come alive, apply dettol by himself and call home. kindly report us of a car on indian roads that performs better as a suicidal vehicle.
