The interiors especially the dash and the glove area look to be lift from the gen 2 Swift. The front looks a bit od but the rear is quite nice. But what does Maruti care about design and looks, they will still be able to sell if they price it well.

Cheville hasn't posted the pictures of the front fascia, the ones you saw are images of the Suzuki APV and Landy. This looks like a totally new vehicle and most probably it is the production version of the R3 concept.

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Great scoop Chevelle & Karthik! Thanks for sharing. I was just reading an interesting article in the Eco times this Sunday, and it quoted a Maruti official lamenting over their absence in the diesel MUV space . Oh well, that seems to have been sorted out now. Maruti rarely makes the same mistake twice. The Versa bombed only because of the price; some corrections & the Eeco is now a respectable performer. This UV will definitely go a segment or two higher and, by gawd, those are nice looking interiors for a people carrier. |

I guess this car will be a 5 seater with an optional 5+2 seater option. But will the 1.3l ddis engine be able to pull the load? I doubt this car will be of the same size of the Innova. This will be a bit bigger than the Versa maybe.

Definitely a winner in the hands of Maruti. Xylo is going down! Highly inspired design (both exterior and interior) from the Gen.2 Swift. Love the interior colors, looks really classy. As some of the members have raised a question of the capability of the 1.3L DDiS 90bhp engine being able to pull the load of 7 passengers and the overall build structure and requirements of an MPV. I say maruti should churn out at least a respectable 105bhp to do the job

I had the same doubt initially. A bit of R&D on the Xylo spec got me this info. :: Welcome to Mahindra Xylo co.in :: Xylo has a MDi engine which generates 95bhp power & 220Nm torque. So If Maruti decides to plonk the 1.3 VGT which generates 90 bhp & 200Nm torque, things should be OK though not exceptional. And I expect the Maruti car to be lighter than Xylo [assumption]. So this might work out things in Maruti's favour!

This is a new car - and most probably the RIII - from Maruti and not Landy / APV, for sure. The extra trimmed rear bumper is a clear indication that it is under 4m length. But having three row of seats, it should have a very small bonnet area, just like APV. But note the C-pillar side shape - APV has a straight shape, but this one has a slanded shape. The rear, overall size, and the front quarter glass on the door, confirms this is not Landy. And since it is under 4m length, it will have the 1.3L Diesel engine only.

This is clearly a new vehicle and has no resemblence to the Landy as shown in the following link. This is more compact. Could be the ideal family car for Indians with five + two seats, car like handling, compact dimensions, diesel avtar and above all BEING A MARUTI. ¿Suzuki Landy??-½ R3 FOR SURE.

Great Scoop ! An MPV just below Innova in size with all bell and whistles is long overdue. From the 2nd picture I can guess that it will be smaller than Innova and 3rd picture suggests that interiors will be of good quality. There is a huge scope for such a car in our country and I believe with Diesel Engine, MSIL has a trump card in their hands. I am eagerly waiting for more info on this car. Thanks again...

nice spy picshow can MSIL not cover up the MPV and protect it ![]() but yup its certainly looking like a winner why buy any diesel car between 6 to 7lakhs OTR? when ur getting a MPV from maruti at 8lakhs. More space better visibility etc etc If they price it over 8lakhs OTR, its game over!! Last edited by DerAlte : 3rd June 2011 at 09:59. Reason: Excess smileys removed

![]() The interiors are spot on! The dash is well designed and seems to be inspired from the new gen Suzukis and the A-Star. The door pads inspired by the ANHC! Good job Suzuki India. And the exteriors seem to be good too, though we've not seen it fully. And the SX4's diesel mill is a good motor for the small MPV. I see a game changer, a winner here | |
