| An article in the economic times today, talk about the advent of global car-servicing majors looking to enter the Indian market. As of now FDI rules do not allow foreign firms to invest in multi-brand retailing but with those restrictions expected to be lifted soon, these players might enter India. The firms include: 1.Texas headquartered Meineke Car care centre. 2.Midas Group of Australia. 3.Autodistribution International which mainly operates in Europe. I wonder if they can really can make a difference and give a good and reliable alternative destination for car owners to get their car serviced. With unsatisfactory service meted out by most in-house service of car manufacturers, they might find a lot of customers if they do their job well. The article also pointed out the present incumbents,Hyderabad based Carz,Jagdish Khatter's carnation Auto,Mahindra First Choice Services and TVS Automobile services are looking to expand their operations nationwide soon and launch a big offensive. |
