Does anyone know whether Pete's tuning box can be interfaced to Swift's (FIAT's)1.3 multijet engine??? If so what would be the power, torque and max speed gain?

When I went for test-driving a Swift, the salesperson told me that the Swift Diesel will only be available by mid-2008.

He told me that info, only when I told him that "I'm ready to wait some more months for the new Swift Diesel."

But I'm wondering why should Fiat provide Multi-jet diesel for Maruti, when they can sell it in the Fiat/Tata badge in India since the A.S.S problems are almost sorted out ??

PSI has a tuning box for the Fiat 1.3 engine -
http://www.bluechiptuning.co.uk/prod...HP-4482-0.html

And power and torque curves here -
http://www.psi-motorsport.com/turbod...p?selectid=827

Increases bhp by 10, and Torque by 20Nm, and of course lightens your wallet by around 350 Pounds.

But then, only turboindia knows whether we are getting it here.

Don't let these guys fool you... If MUL is reporting to Auto Mags that Swift will be out by end of 2006, then I guess its a more reliable news than the Salesperson

I heard Swift Diesel to be launched after the launch of new zen which is due in october 2006, so by year end 2006 we can except Swift Diesel, but its more sluggish than Petrol swift, I feel it might become more like Taxy vehicle than personal use. However FE is supposed to be very good, better than Indica. Might give upto 25 as FE on higways. But future will tell the truth. right now what we hear is just news and assumptions but actual story, so I am also waiting.

Ravi.

The last news that I had heard was when my friend went for booking his new swift the dealer here said that if he can wait for another 2 months the diesel version of swift is gonna be here. Guess he meant by december 06.
thats the news from the leading dealer in bangalore. 20 FE wow! thats great. got to check out the performance of this new combination of fiat and maruti.

i wouldnt be surprised if the swift diesel sells like hot cakes.you cannot overlook the fact that though the nhc had just 77bhp ,it did sell like crazy.people who want diesel cars are more bothered about the fuel efficiency rather than the performance.and the swift does have a better appeal than the indica.
