As promised, but please excuse the poor quality of the snaps which were taken by a 1.3 MP phone cam.

7 to 10 lakhs is pretty good. But when manufacturers say this, they usually mean around 7.5L for the basic version. Was hoping the car would be launched in 2012, 2013 seem far away and by then the Duster will be established.

Thank you for the pictures. These look like high-speed snaps with slow shutter speeds.

Though it is not very clear from your pictures, but this test mule does not seem to have either the "TITANIUM" or the "TDCi" badges at the rear (While the Ford logo is visible). This means that this is the third test mule spotted on NH45.

Was the Ecosport fast? Was there visible body roll (as the NH45 after Tindivanam, towards Chennai is not smooth)?

: All Team-Bhpians who do a bit of highway driving, should immediately upgrade your phones with atleast a 5MP camera for better quality scoop photos.

Frankly , I am slowly getting overwhelmed by the road presence and looks of the Ecosport.
Looks menacing and definitely doesn't look like a Figo or Fusion on bigger wheels. This is surely going to be a game changer.

Edit: On a side note, TBHP should now officially send a scoop patrol on the Pondicherry-Tindivanam highway armed with Video and SLR cameras

I distinctly remember TITANIUM in some of those cars. They were all parked on the side of the highway when I first saw them. As I braked and moved back for some snaps, they started to drive off one by one. My stand by phone is very slow and took some time to get the camera going. The drivers did not seem to be too happy with me clicking pics.

The Duster does look BIG and in India SUV = BIG Road presence
That can change ofcourse with good product placement but if one gets more room plus bigger engines for the same cost, they makes a good case for themselves.
Having said that, a lot of people I come across crib about parking problems if they have big cars and some of them have actually sold their sedans in exchange for a smaller hatch due to the driving and parking problems in a city. A tightly packaged car, which gives you excellent visibility, SUV status and decent average was winner written over it, provided its priced properly.

Being a Ford owner, I hope they position the product well, but they are really walking a tight rope here. A lot depends on the localisation of the Ecosport.

The Ecosport is not big at all, seemed like it is just a bigger hatch. The front (fortuner like) of the car looks big, but in reality, the entire car is like I said a big hatch.

You just burst the bubble. I was appreciating how the Ford designers had managed to create the kind of largish butch look under 4mts.
Lesson: Photographs never tell the real picture.

Thanks a ton for sharing the info, slightly bigger than a hatch may not be all that bad an idea, with the expected GC this may be great vehicle to drive around the city, especially in the rains- where the roads are comparable to lunar craters. I am looking forward to this vehicle, the only concern now is for Ford to get the pricing right.

Best - ML.

I think Ford would price it's Eco-boost petrol model in between the Dzire ZXI & Ertiga ZXI around 7 lacs. Its just my guess, could be wrong.

I was at Harpreet Ford Gurgaon today....just asked the service assistant off-hand when Ecosport is launching, and he said around Diwali.

But then, he also said that the new Fiesta is selling quite well, so maybe his inputs to be taken with a large grain of salt.

I'm really looking forward to EcoSport with EcoBoost and PowerShift AT transmission.
The local Ford dealer says that the EcoSport will be on display starting November with deliveries slated to start in Jan 2013.

This comparison is more useful if you have brought both the pictures to the same scale.
