If this is the case then its good news, hopefully its true.

Increase of 70mm from Safari Dicors 1500mm. Should help in handling, especially body roll and stability. I think this increase is quiet obvious if Aria chassis is getting reused.

Any idea of rear track?

The antenna in the front is pure YUCK!!! They should use a flat roof antenna like in the LR / RR cars...

Current antenna works ok with the OEM HUs. I changed to a kenwood, and the reception isn't great.

As to why, its more about design styling and aping competition to an extent..IMO.

Ah, I would really love that. I may be in the market in 2012 for an SUV, and my minimum criteria is getting ABS and 4WD. Until now, the cheapest SUV which fits the bill is the Scorpio.

Note from Support: Team-BHP no longer permits the use of (hard to understand) acronyms for newly launched cars. Please refer to each car by its full name only. This will make our content useful and searchable to experts & newbies alike. Thanks.

Mr. Sinha, ants can cause an itch. Why did you want to conjure up such a name when Tata has given the new Safari a new, proper, name as "Storme" ? This is not like the Honda City where we have 3 iterations, and Honda called of three as the City.

That was an attempt at humor Sir, since the new looks seemed to have got everybody riled up here.

Newspapers continue to say that Storme will be priced between 14-15 Lakhs. I just hope that Tata does not make this mistake. One of the key reasons why this legend survived for more than decade is its pricing.

One more thing is, Safari always needed a better treatment, the changes are welcome, discontinue the existing model and price the new one at current price. Dont make a mistake of launching Storme against the XUV 500, it will fall flat on face.

...
If VX 4X4 lands @ 14L OTR in Bangalore region, then, its a good one. I wouldnt complain much since it falls slightly below the current VX 4X4.

OT - Btw, I see your signature saying 2012 Safari, but, I dont see a ownership thread !!! Come on, put it out soon.

the preview looks promising, just waiting for GTO to give us a full road test.
I am wondering how are they going to price it.
I hope they dont repeat the same mistake as Aria.

Thanks Prajeesh, a lot of good information, hope this is more authentic and right.

Brake is put to rest with this article - Discs on all wheels.

Just wondering, in which city/town, The Hindu puts the motor reviews on Tuesday. I usually see it on Wednesday Metro Plus [Should be tomorrow in Blore].
