| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Mod Note : Team-BHP's Tata Safari Storme Review has been uploaded at this link (Tata Safari Storme : Official Review). Please continue the discussion on the new thread. Thanks! Safari looks are now toned down. More "gentleman" than "dude in torn jeans + boots". Not everyone will like: ![]() ![]() I like the rear end treatment way more than the front. Spare wheel is no longer mounted on the tail-gate though. Takes away from that "propah-SUV" feeling: ![]() ![]() Low beam projectors: ![]() ![]() New bumper & Fog lamps: ![]() Trapezoidal exhaust; note that the Safari gets dual-exhaust tips (one on each side ): ![]() ![]() Bonnet light has disappeared: ![]() Last edited by GTO : 1st December 2012 at 20:41. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Did you say the new Safari is toned down? Well, here’s one tastefully done up example that is so in-your-face that it will scare you! 5 stars to the front end treatment. I particular love visiting Tata & Mahindra stalls because the enthusiasts in these companies showcase one-off variants that they have personally worked on. The pride is obvious, and its unfortunate that most of these beauties remain one-offs only. Wait for the full report on the Tata stall, lotsa exciting variants of everyday cars coming up: ![]() ![]() ARB bumpers? Yep: ![]() ![]() Snorkel? Check ![]() Why are Tata & Mahindra such fans of Hankook? Nevertheless, great alloys and just the right size of rubber: ![]() Classy matt finish cladding: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks to Kartik Ganesh for sharing the following pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by GTO : 10th January 2012 at 09:06. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Interiors have a long list of improvements, but most of them are too subtle for the non-Safari owner to even notice. Luckily, I had TSK1979 giving me company during the Safari visit: ![]() Dash plastics have improved. TSK says its more "car like" now: ![]() Rotary controls for the air-conditioner are nice to use: ![]() Notice the 4x4 rotary control knob (bottom right-hand-side of the gear lever). Also, in the Safari Storme, a CD can actually be ejected / loaded in 3rd gear (existing Safari owners will know what I'm talking about ):![]() Dash top gets a storage bin: ![]() Slightly changed door-pads: ![]() TSK says that the glovebox seems a tad wider, and the lining material is of far better quality than before: ![]() Cubby holes are deeper, while the cup-holders have been moved forward (ahead of the gear-lever): ![]() Looks like the Storme gets a proper MID. Why else would there be a "Mode" button: ![]() Euro-style headlamp controls: ![]() TSK says that the rear air-con now looks properly fitted, and not like the earlier Safari’s after-market look: ![]() Only in India!! Notice the gaping hole, someone swiped the cover at the Auto Expo! ![]() Last edited by GTO : 5th January 2012 at 20:44. |

| I like that analog clock; cute touche'. But the dash in total disappoints. Iam also not a great fan of the TATA steering wheel, be it any TATA product. |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | What the!!! They have completely ruined the butch looks of the Safari. I know many people who bought Safari just because they grew up admiring its looks! Its spoiled now! ![]() What was TATA developing for all these months? This is just a minor facelift (so to speak) to have so many test mules on the road for several months! |

| BHPian | Looks cool to me. The interiors look just right. Nothing great but nothing out of the place either. Now the pricing will be a factor to see how this gets pitched against the competition. I have never owned a Tata ot Mahindra before but still feel that this Tata product will be better than the rest. Gut feeling ![]() |

| The fourth picture in the first post above, which shows the rear part of the vehicle. It reminds me of a caravan. When I compare this with the Eco Sport from Ford, what can I say ![]() When will Tata get the design correctly? |

| Thank you GTO for the wonderful pics. Your attention to detail are awesome! refer 'gaping hole'. Yes, such things happens only in India. Btw, whats happening with TATA nowadays? Safari Storm'e'? You just added one 'e' to Mahindra's Storm. We know that you were running out of your vehicle pics to put it in your annual report; but never realized that you need Mahindra's help for naming your vehicle as well. :( C'mon :( |

| I quite like the looks of the Safari Storme. It looks more "mature" than the older generation. The interiors may have got a quality upgrade, but the central console looks rudimentary compared to the XUV5OO. The music system looks after-market. I hope Tata will price this product correctly from Day-1. |

| I am NOT happy with the looks. The grill definitely is an eye sore and people who buy this may want to have an after market mesh grille installed. Quote:

| Any News on variants and pricing? The rear looks like wagonr big brother, big mistake of getting spear wheel off, even the Eco sport has one. |
