Congrats. However I suggest you to finalize the variant in the meantime and get what you want rather than leaving it to the convenience of the dealer. After-all it is your money and their job is to arrange the product you want in return of hefty commission.

Ride quality and driveability apart how is the pick up and pulling power Vis-à-vis the Innova and Xylo both having a bigger engines.

Some figures from ACI first drive

Petrol:
0-100 kmph = 12.39 secs (better then Swift)
20-80 kmph in 3rd gear= 11.82 secs
40-100 kmph in 4th gear= 16.77 secs

Diesel
0-100 kmph = 13.89 secs (better then Swift)
20-80 kmph in 3rd gear= 12.68 secs
40-100 kmph in 4th gear= 13.55 secs

Initial sluggishness is obvious in the 20-80 in gear acceleration which is lower then a petrol version (diesel cars have much better in gear acceleration). But it seem to pick up very well in the mid range.

Interestingly ACI has compared the Ertiga with Innova and declare Ertiga to be the preferred choice. They don't say that Ertiga is better then Innova as a car but in the final analysis (bang for your bucks) Ertiga does very well.

I can't believe the timings. I searched on internet a lot but can't find any timings for Ertiga. Can you please give a link for reference. All the figures quoted seem unrealistic to me.

what's advantage of selling/advertising the product when they are not able to produce them.
Today, I went Varun Motors, Hyderabad, they informed me about minimum 9 months waiting period for ZDI and 6 months for VDI.
By that time market will be flooded with Ecosport/Duster/and many more.
I don't understand why they are wasting money on ads.

That I think is from the latest issue or Autocar Magazine. They have run up a story on Ertiga Vs Innova.
That said, the figures dont seem unrealistic to me. Remember, the Ertiga petrol weighs just as much as an SX4. A 94 Bhp engine will give pretty decent power to weight ratio.
Ditto about the diesel ertiga. The diesel reportedly has short gearing except the overdrive one. The short gearing may again help in negating the turbo lag and help a bit in the initial acceleration.

However these figures are not with a full complement. It would be interesting to see how they would behave when they are fully loaded.
