Leave alone the ad!... someone I know actually bought the CRDi today! Hyundai doesn't seem to be informing customers of the latest development!.... (though CRDi is a good buy anyday)

I think it'll take some time... for this news to spread.

I think it is a good move by Hyundai. Thankfully they did not go the Maruti/Skoda/Ford way. Good that Verna is a replacement for Accent.

I don't see a reason to complain about MULs outdated lineup! ... Just b'coz hyundai discontinued one of its dying cars!
SLK, agree 100% with you. Hyundai might have its own reasons for discontinuing the Accent. Does not mean that everyone else should follow suit.

@GTO its 4 months away. And I think its due to the diesel. Traditionally there have been waiting lists on the diesel hyundai's because the engine is imported. What hyundai may be planning is to get the 1.5L diesel engine made in India. Offer the same powerplant on getz. You get excise duty cuts, as well as the benefit of volume production.

there is no such hard and fast rule.
a company can very easily mould the regulations by various loopholes available in existing law.

it is only upto the reputation of the company how it wants to treat its customers.
and Hyundai is known for very happy customers.

ok. Latest I've heard on this is that they plan to keep the 1.5L Accent GLE, while discontinuing the 1.6L and replacing it with the Verna.

The VERNA might work for Hyundai unlike the other models from the company.

Now look at this piece of news in Economic times.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...ow/1475584.cms

In essense, it says that Hyundai has confirmed that it is not doing away with Accent for domestic market. So, it will be playing the same game that Skoda and Maruti are playing :(

Don't blame the poor chap...went to the hyundai showroom in bangalore sometime back when i was interested in picking up the accent and specifically asked the dealers as to whether the accent will be phased out for the verna..but they categorically denied it...this after Eco Times carried an article quoting MD subbu (ex-MD now) on the same . IMO would amount to misrepresentation if people bought the accent on that ground...just a ploy to push the vehicles out of their showrooms..prior to having to offer discounts .

From what the dealers tell me the verna is expected to be around 8-10 lakhs..but these are the very dealers who were not aware of the phasing out of the accent...but would expect it to be around this range..if u don't mind waiting the verna should be a car worth looking forward to..with the hyundai badge et al.

Cheers

they will be launching a new car in a short while but i think that with stopped production of accent and BVR Subbu leaving Hyundai .it will be difficult to be in competition

@ Mods: Since the production has not stopped... we should change the topic subject... otherwise it is misleading for anyone who does not go through each and every post!

And as for hyundai clarifying with production figures.. it just seems to me that they don't want to give any discount.. but eventually they'll stop production and launch Verna.
