I'd seen many cars that looked the same as Hyundai Accent in Moscow city area. I didn't see under what name they're sold over there. I don't know whether they're built here either.

I'd also seen a car that looked the same as Maruti Esteem outside the city.

In France, the only indian cars available are the Mahindra "Goa" (Scorpios) with a 2.5l diesel engine. They come as SUV's and Pick-Ups.
I was seriously interested in buying the SUV type but stepped back since this car:
Does not have airbags
Cannot be equipped with ABS even as an option
Generates Very High CO2 emissions
Has a very weak engine
Cannot be equipped with LSD even as an option

And also because of the lack of efficiency of its suspensions

It seems that some issues have been fixed with the new model (??) but it still does not have airbags (unbelievable..) and nothing has been published (that I kbnow) about CO2 generation. I am very much concerned about that last point for obvious environmental reasons but also because the french government has announced that next year, for this level of CO2 emissions, there will be a new tax of 750 euros PER YEAR!

I think it's gonna kill the Mahindra business here, which actually did not really start. I have actually never seen any of these cars on the road.. This is a bit frustrating since I still think it could be a good cheap alternative to those very expensive 4x4.. assuming Mahindra makes the right marketing decisions..

The other indian product is the Royal Enfield 350cc and may be still the 500cc. I love seeing those around.. but there are very few of them though..

also some nice images of vehicles in dubai.. love those camry taxis.

the innova is used mostly as a ladies taxi service vehicle. and i think it had a 2.7v6 petrol engine.

For us Indians, when LIFE is OPTIONAL, how can we think of Helmets and Airbags?

Have seen quite a few Safaris in Italy while travelling, yet to spot a real Indian Car in Germany though.
A friend of mine saw VW doing case study (or whatever) of Mahindra Scorpio here in VW centre.

Only Tata & Mahindra are Indian cars others are either Japanese or Korean. Santro, Alto, Verna etc. can not be termed by any stretch of imagination. If they will be termed Indian ininternational market they will meet the same fate of Tata Rover. In west nobody beleives Indians can make car, same as earlier in US nobody liked Japanese cars. In US even now Hyundai has same status as that of Tata in UK

And Tata Motors is really trying hard to prove them right.

Quote:
JOHANNESBURG: Indian automobile firm Tata Motors' passenger cars have been named as the worst performer among 23 same category vehicles running on South African roads in a new customer satisfaction survey released today by JD Power and Associates.
Tata cars reported as many as 567 problems per 100 vehicles -- the highest for the segment. The score of Tata vehicles was more than double the average passenger vehicle score of 245.
