Clearly its going to be a hatchback, am wondering how the rear hatch will open! There is a gap between where the rear windshield ends and where the hatch ends. Also the rear windshield appears to be a fixed type. Quiet possible that the hatch may open downwards as in a Pik-up truck resulting in discomfort loading and unloading luggage. Just my 2 cents!

That is due to a black thing pasted just above the rear door handle, this is to make the rear window look more angular than the current boxy and unfinished look.

The tax exemption rules in India is causing the birth of some real "fun"tastic cars in India - Indigo CS, DZire, Quanto, and now this one! What else in the pipeline?
I think the extra bulge is to fool us, i feel the taillights will be placed exactly in the area marked by you, metal should be replaced by lights.

They would not want this car to look like a hatch, but would want it to look more like a shortened sedan, hence i feel tailights will not be near the rear windscreen.

Cars in pipeline due to Tax exemption : Manza CS, Compact Sumo.

While the compact takes its time..does the executive edition at 7.75lacs interest anyone?

http://motoroids.com/news/mahindra-v...nr-7-75-lakhs/

The features of Verito Executive edition include

Pearl White exterior colour
Italian leather upholstery
Leather-wrapped Steering Wheel
Touch Screen Navigation System
Bluetooth Audio
Body graphics (decals)

Any idea which variant the Verito Executive Edition is based on?

EDIT: It also comes with alloy wheels and blue vision headlamps. The alloy design seems to be the same as what we see in the latest CS/hatch spy shots.

Man! Just yesterday one of my friends told me he has already seen pics of Verito CS (the one I had on my phone) on the net. I knew he was not a team-bhp member. So thought of googling a bit.

Below links have taken my pics from above two pages for their articles (Within few days of posting!) Most of them have given credit to team-bhp and thats a good thing!

One thing for sure the CS verito seems to have potential. It might just tick all the right boxes and if priced correctly might just get some numbers for mahindra.

It makes more sense to have a notch back than a compact boot. So can we expect more notch backs from other manufacturers?

It looks absolutely disproportionate if you ask me. I hope its the camouflage thats the reason behind it. Else this will set a new benchmark of ugly in notchbacks! The only one i really ever appreciated for its form was the Accent Viva and it still rules my heart.
Its actually a terrible looking hatchback of sorts! Not even a CS..

Actually though looks can be subjective this may be acceptable for Indian tastes. It would add further competition to the TATA Vista which itself is not doing well presently and would be a vehicle that would match it on space and interior quality in every way.

Definitely looks better than the current variants (excluding the body graphics) but 55k is a little too much for the features being given. I mean, Verito is supposed to be a VFM family sedan, even if Mahindra wants to give it a "premium" feel (which is required anyways), you cant increase it by 8% of the car value and yet hope to retain your original positioning.

Maybe we should analyse what would have been the cost incurred had someone tried to fit in the same attachments in a D6.

Link to Motorbeam article on recent sighting of the Verito CS:

http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/mahind...ng-in-chennai/

The chopped rear makes Dzire CS better proportioned at the rear.

Rear end looks strange and quirky, unless there is some faux padding done to conceal the real shape.

I feel Verito hatch just under 4 meter would have been a better option rather than another quirky rear ended compact sedan.

Yet another rendering of upcoming Mahindra Verito hatchback.

The concept looks decent I feel.

This rendering seems to be quite accurate going by the pics of the camouflaged test mules. Mahindra would have to price this in hatchback territory to gain any traction in the market.

Oops, looks like Mahindra is going back to the eighties model, remembers me of the old second generation Civic hatch.

My head is spinning looking at this rendering! They could have tried to do something better to make it look better. All the reminds me of Chevy SRV and what a sexy car it was!!

The rear 3/4 is OK to look at, the side profile is atrocious! I like the regular Verito (refreshed) though. The chrome et al makes it look decent.
