| BHPian | Hi Nikhil, thanks for the info! Let us wait and see how Mahindra will price this one. As mentioned by our other team members, if priced well with the equipment levels and trims, this would be a market hit. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Official Launch on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 12 pm - 2 pm. A link to the live video feed will be provided. Lets hope Mahindra prices it right...right enough to create an impact (a la XUV500), shake up the market and lure hatchback / sedan customers. On the other hand, if they get too optimistic, the Quanto could fall flat on its face as 5 - 8 lakh rupee hatchbacks & sedans have quality & refinement that Mahindra can only dream of. It also needs better branding & marketing efforts than the full-size Xylo which never realised its market potential. |

Look at the Polos, the Ventos, the Rapids and even the new Swift for that matter. Also, what will the Quanto be positioned as? Affordable mini SUV?

Many feel that the looks of the Quanto are not good. But if one sees the posts on the XUV launch thread, a large percentage of people ridiculed the looks of the XUV on the day of the launch. But once the killer pricing was revealed, the same XUV began to look much better . Same gets repeated with the Quanto, I hope !

| BHPian | Looks Indian ecosport'ish. I hope they bring the double turbo 100+bhp engine producing atleast 220 nm torque. Will surely be a winner if they can implement XUV5OO's gearbox and handling. I would love to see the pricing, know the M&M is known for their aggressive initial pricing but! let us wait for the final verdict. |

| BHPian | The Quanto looks much better in these pics. Hope Mahindra prices it the way we have expected it to do. Now the unanswered bits are the fit & finish and the handling. I am eagerly waiting for the official tbhp review to get an answer to all these questions. |

| Fantastic catch VC.Vinay. No doubt it is being shot either for a TVC or for a review on some Auto Show. The "Quanto" lettering on the boot door looks classy. In the third picture the Innova on the right hand side looks dwarfed (even with the roof carrier) in front of the Quanto. The space, road presence, price would be "NO PROBLEM" for the Quanto. If only M&M can manage to launch a niggle free product, it can take the market by storm. I can already sense a feeling of nervousness in the Ford's Ecosport camp, which will be carried over to the Renault's Duster camp after the initial hoopla dies down. |

| I always prefer a mahindra over ford or renault .Why because it will be easier to maintain , once after the honeymoon period is over (read free service) the A.S.S will be costly for foreign players ,also availability of spares outside. As the Xylos are already plying taxi market the spares will be available outside and a competent local workshop will be able to fix the issues expect the electrical gizmos if any. I have personally seems xylo's clocking more than 2 lakh kms running without much trouble and ride quality at lower speeds is much better. Hope mahindra gets it right on the suspension and pricing part then this little thing (is it?) is going to do wonders. |

| Looks like following link will be the Mahindra Quanto website http://www.mahindraquanto.com. However, currently it has a "Coming Soon" heading only. Last edited by sarthakgupta : 8th September 2012 at 12:48. |

| Also take notice of the shoes it is wearing, they are not that small after all. The old spy shots had them shod with a 14" if I remember correctly. |

| Yes I have to agree the car seems much better looking in these pics and angles. Prices would be the key. While it may or may not have the same quality as some of the premium hatchbacks, price it competitively, the 100 bhp mill itself IMO would garner enough customers. |
