| Team-BHP Support ![]() | Hi All, While discussing about te models discontinued by MUL it struck me to geta list of all Cars & Models(Not cosmetic changes ones) which were at some time launched in India & later were stoped due to one or the other reason. Mods: I could not find a similar thread, so starting a new one - Sipani Montana - Dolphin - Sipani D1 - Standard 2000 - Standard Herald - Premier 118 NE - Premier Padmini - M800 (the original Jap one, if you consider the later ones as all new) - Cielo - Matiz - Zen - Maruti 1000 - Alto VX - Toyota Qualis - OHC 1.3 (Or may be the entire range of OHC type 1 & type 2s) - Old Accord - Sonata - Baleno Altura (or is it available on Order ???) - Gypsy/Gypsy King (Its not available for public so mentioning) - Peugeot 309 - HM Contessa - Tata Sierra - Tata Estate Not mentioned the Ambassador as the its still available in its latest Avtaar. Please add the ones I have not mentioned & also if any of the models dont deserve to be in the list.

Hiding under the cover of marketing hype, GM discontinued their solid long-life GM Europe products: The Opel Vectra, Opel Kadett/Vauxhall Astra and the Opel Corsa. Hitherto in India, "Chevrolet" connoted the V8 Impala muscle car and the never-say-die Chevrolet school buses that kids of my time and me, went to school in, in the 1960s. IMHO, I see that Chevrolet brand of solidity and long-life, being murdered in India. GM's India representation now sell second class Asian products: Subaru Forester as Chevrolet Forester Daewoo Nubira as Chevrolet Optra Isuzu Panther as Chevrolet Tavera Ergo, their latest placebo: the Aveo doesn't appeal to my heart! Guess what, you get to keep your car and you get your money back.. Now isn't that an irresistable deal.. I guess thats when General Motors started pulling out the Opel Brand.. I guess they had even given a disclaimer in a leading news-paper. I've read this story somewhere.. Don't quite remember the exact details.. Last edited by man23ish : 29th April 2006 at 20:33. | |

| Guys, Is there any Government-regulation that after a company stops a model, they have to support/provide the spares for X number of years? PS : of course the assumption being that the company is alive ![]()
