Default How do i figure out the import duty on imported cars

I was wondering if i buy a car from US and get it in India then what would be its total price like for example if i buy a Hummer H2 in US for around $53,855 what would be the total price for getting it in Mumbai.

Duty stand at 112% on the original invoice value

The Car has to be NEW and RHD

Monkey your partially right.. it does have to be RHD but on the being new part.. I think your wrong.
The car should be LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD, that is unless your coming here on a TR.
But then again.. RHD rule applies to any car coming into the country.
Someone correct me if I am mistaken.

ull have to get ur hummer converted. that means take it to uk first and get it done there. thers a company that converts these cars and has even converted suneil shettys h2. they advertised in an indian car mag also.
