Sorry to spoil your mood. That is "dCi" badge to specify diesel variant. The same can be seen in Nissan Micra Diesel and Nissan Sunny Diesel variants.
So I had a word with my SE at Nissan, he said AT and 4x4 not coming.

Also, the cars will reach showrooms for display by 30th of this month.

Lastly, the price will be higher mainly because of increased features.

If this is true then overall im little disappointed, nissan is not carrying forward the legacy of their name and their SUVs.

Get real nissan.

If it is going to be priced more than Duster, the top end 110 BHP diesel will cost more than 15 L. For this price, Nissan should have at least changed the flap type door handles and provided the key-less entry, which is present even in the Micra! Hope the interiors and features match the ecosport. Otherwise, its going to be very difficult to justify its optimistic pricing.

To me the process of re-badging a car is like doing an after market mod to make it look different from stock. End of the day you loose the original character of the car. Look at Scala or Pulse, you know at the deep of heart it is not an original design, its a replica with some slight changes to make it look a bit different. Same is with Terrano, it is not original. If someone is interested in such a car, Duster makes sense, it has some originality and honesty in it.

Nissan should have bought some original stuff when they want to get peoples hard earned one million rupees or more. That would have been a honest effort.

From the parent company's perspective, they have to answer one question - How do we generate more profitability from a hit platform. The answer - Terrano.

I expect a price rise of close to a Lac in exchange for better interiors, different exteriors and the Japanese badge. And I expect it to sell well!

If re-badging is an issue then we all should have waited for the Dacia brand to come to India rather than going for Renault. The Nissan front end looks closer to the original than the Renault's.
At the end of the day everyone has his/her personal choice to make, more the number of models, its better for the end user.

Look below to know the differences from the limited pictures that we have:

The Tailgate - The obvious differences around the number plate and taillights. Discount the plastic bumper.

Edit: I just realized the cut on the front fender to accommodate the headlight is also different. And the same for the C pillar for the taillights.

Guys, Nissan has taken enough steps to ensure there are sheet metal differences in the two cars. Apart from the ones mentioned by deetjohn, the bonnet of the Nissan Terrano is also different when compared to the Duster.

But, with the launch of Ecosport at such a good price point, Terrano will not be able make waves that Nissan would have hoped for. All it will do is take away some sales from the Duster

Interiors looks a step-up from the duster. looks a little more contemporary to me. any idea about quality of plastics, is it better?

what about price?

Seems to be a much better version of the Duster-something the Renault should have been from the beginning itself. Nissan should be able to win over Renault customers if they ask a justifiable premium.

Love the front styling, blackened pillars and radical alloys. Interiors feel simple now, compared to the dated design earlier. Hope the plastic quality is also improved.
