My vote goes for the Ertiga. Very sensible package in a relatively small footprint. You can't go wrong with it. Assured after sales service anywhere in the country. Brilliant packaging. Both the Ertiga and the Duster were in contention but the Duster's dashboard and rubber beadings are a huge let down. Keeping in mind the fact that the sticker price is north of 10 lakhs this is just not done. And the Duster is actually a Romanian pretending to be a Frenchman (just like the Logan).

Voted for the Duster.

I think Ertiga is also a close competitor but Duster gives a better package in terms of expectations of the masses.
While being versatile and compact it has also filled in the void of sub-10 lac compact SUV. It serves the purpose well enough and also fills up most check boxes of any new buyer.

My vote definitely goes to the Renault Duster. Renault's timing in India couldn't have been better, and the product couldn't have been more suitable. The sub-10 lakh SUV market has never been this active before, and that is down purely to the Duster, I think. Its powerful, the ride and handling are superb, and even the fit and finish are acceptable. Plenty, from a car which is as comfortable off the road, as it is useful in the city.

Voted for The Duster.

What an amazing car it is. Two of my cousins (Non - BHpians) in Chennai have bought the 110 RXL & 110 RXZ respectively.

Happened to drive one of them during my recent visit to Chennai. When driving in peak hour traffic in Chennai Mount road, it felt smoother than a car although the clutch was a bit heavy.

Overall it wins hands down when compared to other SUV's in its segment.

Voted for Renault Duster.

It is one heck of car with great looks and attractive price.

If I was to buy a car today in this budget then my choice would have been Duster without a second thought.

My vote for Mahindra Quanto.
The sheer value it offers
Perfect for indian road conditions
Spacious and Practical
Robust build
Good fuel economy for the size/weight
Acceptable road dynamics(For BOF construction)

Voted for the Duster - IMHO it is the most VFM proposition in the market today. Yes it has it's -ves but the +ves outweigh them.

An SUV with a super fuel efficient engine (diesel) is just what the Doctor ordered

Cheers

I voted for the Renault Pulse. Just like its Nissan twin, it is an excellent, user-friendly family hatchback with an amazingly responsive, fuel-efficient diesel engine and it also looks sportier than the Micra. The rear seat base and the missing ABS (on the diesel) are its only drawbacks, which can be taken care of by Renault in an update.

I always knew it was going to be a straight fight between the Duster and the Ertiga for this year's award. These two have created new segments which are going to be red hot in the coming years. As pioneers, they deserve to reap all the benefits till the competitors also get into the game.

My choice is the Tata Safari Storme.Tata has done a splendid job in improving the overall appeal of the car and making it more desirable. Time will tell if this Suv becomes a hit or a flop. But for me, it is the car of the year and I want it very badly.

My vote for Renault Duster.
Reasons:
1. Compact and proportionate looking unlike desi SUV/MUV's
2. Provides a good alternative under 10L to sedans.
3. Good ride quality as vouched by many.
4. Overall a fine package.
Cons:
1. No adequate safety features on lower variants.
2. Ridiculously over priced top end version.

Cheers

Voted for Duster, mainly due to it's practicality - fuel efficient, sufficiently powerful, size just enough to be comfortable for the city as well as highway and doesn't look bad either, rather its looks build up on you with time, as they did in my case!

I see a lot of Duster fans. I am not surprised yet my vote goes for Ertiga. Maruti has done a commendable job to give a shot at the segment and I see the big Indian families not squeezed in. Innova and other MUVs have found its match from the smaller one that has big capacity.
