Wow.

Can you provide some details for our reading pleasure? What's the RPM at 80 or 100kmph in 5/6/7 gears? And what's the top speed?

13.48 looks very good.

BTW, I think Skoda is one company who has consistently launched new technology in India:
- First trubo petrol (Octavia vRS)
- First Dual clutch AT (Laura PD, DSG)
- First GDI (Laura TSi)
- First SUV with off-road ABS (Yeti)
- What else???

Way to go Skoda...
Now, only if they employed some ethical guys to run their business.

The only ding is that the new Octavia is around the corner with an estimated diwali launch. I suppose Skoda is testing out the appeal of the TSI AT with the current Laura, and would continue it in the upcoming Octavia (which is lighter and more powerful ~10hp).

I will so trade in my black TSI for the Octavia TSI AT in RED !!!! Should be a hoot to drive till the new RS is launched in 2015.

IMHO, it would do VW a lot of good to put the 1.8 or 2.0TSI AT in the Jetta. I honestly dont understand their logic of doing a 1.4TSI in the Jetta.

Closer look at the 17 inch VRS style Rims and 205/55/17 NCT5 tires.

I can also confirm that the suspension is same as the ambiente model n not the VRS's stiffer setup.

ENJOY !!

Skoda is a very simple car to troubleshoot & maintain, however its the wonderful service teams who really mess up the job. They have no clue on how the car works but simply follows instructions from the so called "HO". There is also a "Hand-in-glove" relationship between the company (Skoda) and its dealers when it comes to repair and spares! They charge almost 5 times the normal rate! What I dont understand is why this suicidal approach? Dont they want good business? Dont they want to get ahead of competition?

Just a point to ponder: The 7 speed transmission: Could skoda be trying to get rid of those defective transmissions on those superbs?

Thanks for the pictures Prithwi. I must say that the Laura still looks incredibly good, quite a feat for a model which is just about to be phased out.

Is that a typo? I thought the Laura got 16” wheels, even for the vRS.

Thanks for the pics!!

I think you mean 16inch wheels. Skoda lauras dont come with 17inch wheels on any of their trims.

Unhappy Re: Laura TSI DSG on Skoda India's website!

I went to the Skoda showroom in Trivandrum with a friend to get details of the Laura petrol AT. But the sales person said there is no such a model! That too even after we showed him the Skoda web page with the details.

Both of us had become DSG fans after the test driving Polo GT yesterday. Wanted to see how 1.8 TSI with DSG behaves.

I think they have brought some left over pieces from abraod. Get this feeling, because of the features of the model, which is equivalent to the Elegant/L&K .

Is it a ZEN Classic repeat?
