Isn't this GRTP parking lot? I park my car right behind this lot. Hopefully the EcoSport is there when I reach work.
Looks like a Sapient employee.

Let me try and catch him as most of them finish off for the day when I get there.

echo77, I rather like the look of indica with the spare wheel on the hatch door than the present one. Difference in perceptions may be!!

Yeah thats right, but then post lunch it was in the hp parking lot. Quite a few curious onlookers too, some couldn't even figure out what this car(if i may call it so) was from a distance.

Definitely looks better, but not in the range of ecosport looks.

I think(in fact I also read in a magazine), the Indica looks more SUV'ish in itself than most hatchbacks in its segment.
but I get we are going OT

I don't understand how being in a 'different class altogether' exempts the evoque from this comparison. The figo is as different from the ecosport in its positioning as the safari from the evoque. If anything, its an apt example.

+1. I saw one Ecosport a couple days back near Hero Honda chowk, Gurgaon. The car looks very smart, and well proportioned from all angles in real life .

It was driven without a Registration number plate, probably going to showroom as display vehicle.

Lets hope Ford gets it pricing right.

Maruti is already planning to do that with XA Alpha

One more review from Motoroids on the Ecosport - http://motoroids.com/reviews/ford-ec...punchy-packet/

Must say well put together.
Now all depends on the pricing by Ford to make it a smashing hit or not.
Bring it on Ford by pricing it well initially ala Duster.

I just got back after a jaunt in Brazil and lo behold, my ride there was the EcoSport. In my opinion it's a clear no nonsense no frills car with practicality in mind rather than bells and whistles. It is also a fine balance between cost and features. All in all, I enjoyed driving it for 2 months, took it into the Amazonian Jungle as well, it practically rains every other day and the car was quite easy at handling kuccha wet clay roads. What I did not like was the constant rattle the engine makes and the shudder when the car starts. This car of course was about 4 months old and had been driven by quite a few people before it came to my hands.

Good you understood, no matter what people say or defend, there is no way the EcoSport will 'not' look like a blown up hatchback. And its not me, even the reviewer are saying so, comparing it constantly with premium hatchbacks

To give credit where its due, an awesome review. Thanks for sharing. Let's wait and watch what other 'extras' come to the fore in our team-bhp review. I can barely wait.
