Just picked up this month's Top Gear India mag and found out that they've got a review on the Terrano where they explicitly mention that the Terrano will come with the same engine options as the Duster. Also mentioned was that Nissan may think about bringing in a 4X4 version to differentiate itself from Renault, in the future.

The Terrano, according to TG guesstimates and the general word out in the market, will be priced some 50k higher than the Duster when launched.

I am impressed with the front and the rear looks, it much better than the duster.. i am not happy with the door handles. from the look of the music system, plastic looks filmy and cheap, hope they are not. what abt the over all plastic quality??

You are right. Wasn't expecting co passengers in every car. Looks like sample cars from various batches are being tested. The co passenger could be taking notes.

Nissan Terrano's website now lists out all the variants. http://nissanterrano.in/

110PS comes with XV and XV plus variant. No XV variant in 85PS option.

Petrol comes in XL variant only

XE Diesel 85 has driver Airbags. But XL 85 has ABS and EBD but no drive Airbags. (At least its not mentioned explicitly)
Or the airbags on XE is a typo ?

Thats the same nomenclature as Duster. They have an XL+

Seems like Nissan has justified the premium over the Duster(as long as it is not a very high premium) by offering safety features even in base variants.

I think it must be in addition to what all features are available in the previous variant as it is not mentioned explicitly that XV variant has power windows but it would be suicidal to launch it without them.

With air bag as standard fitment and ABS available from mid variant without having to go for option pack, Nissan seems to be justifying their price point if the difference is a 50k.

Hope they could have come with body colored door handles, which is sorely missed.

So finally booked the 110 bhp variant. Dealer is dad's friend in Chattisgarh. Have Dad told him that we need the delivery on the 12th of October as it's auspicious and also my son's 3rd B'day.

It's wait and watch for now. Color preferred is Bronze Grey.

Just got a call from Nissan customer service, as I had shown interest on their pre-booking page. The SUV will be launched 2nd week of October and the price "starts from sub-10Lakhs". She mentioned that the advantage one has with pre-booking is only on a speedy delivery and nothing on the price front.

It makes sense to wait for the actual pricing and book later. I don't really expect mad rush at the Nissan dealership (like what happened with EcoSport) once it's launched, so why rush into it? More importantly, it keeps my options open. For me it's a decision between Terrano and Storme now. If the Terrano XL 110 PS variant is priced as much as the Storme EX, i might be tempted to go for Storme, considering the extra space i get with Storme. fingers crossed.
