Are you talking of TATA finance here. They were offering me some 14.X % ( but of course I didnt negotiate much as I had just gone for a test drive ). I later found out that Canara Bank offers loan at much lower rates( ~ @ 11% )

I always went for Cash discounts,So the latest i know as of now is-20,000 rs.

I meant freebies in this way- A customer walks in for a Dicor-enlightened ones(Bhp-ians for example) ask for 2.2!-->Now if the salesman says "arriving shortly" the customer's may decide to wait!

That means one 'postponed' customer AND he may also go to a rival dealer,

So when in Showroom, there will be a situation of giving evasive reply..But carefull not let a customer re-think of---A 2.2 Safari--Competion--Rival Tata dealer---Not dent margins--Put a confident face.

Tall Order right? I mean think of yourself facing YOU when you visited the Showroom! That is untill Tata comes out with a SORTED out 2.2.

Then one headache/situation of the Poor sod's cup of woes.

You sound like you have some inside info on when this 2.2 is going to be launched. Care to share?

Thanks.

I agree, we all have been waiting and waiting for the 2.2L and based on the discussions in this thread, even though TATAs may launch it tomorrow, I seem to have little confidence on the vehicle( mechanical issues/gear box issue etc etc mentioned earlier)
Is Scorpio also meeting the same fate with its 2.2L? Because of the cut throat competition, both these automakers might be on their heels to come first in getting out better engine then the other

Is TATA planning any sports version of the Safari Dicor, something with cosmetic changes like dashing exteriors or funky interiors.

He test-drove the car NOW? Hasn't it been out for a year and a half? And does he have legs made of spaghetti? Because I've driven the car extensively in rush-hour traffic in BLR and it's quite easy to drive. Yes, bumper-to-bumper traffic is kinda hard on the calf muscle, but anything less crowded and people make way for you anyway. And all his problems, like the ECU cutting in, the spare wheel cover falling off, and the black smoke, have been rectified by Tata.

I agree with you but the review looks pretty recent
