Default Maruti Suzuki Sales Down in November

A sizable 10.7% dip in sales for India's largest car maker. Hyundai also reports a double digit decline.

I am sure November has been a bad month for most auto companies.

Break-up numbers of key models

Alto/Wagon R segment - up by 3.7%
Swift segment - down by 24%
DZire - up by 13%
Ertiga segment - down by 21%

On a closer analysis, there isn't much that would worry Maruti except for Ertiga.

These numbers are shipments to the dealers from the factory. Considering we are expecting a facelift for Swift in next couple of months, its most likely a case of Maruti cutting down the production of Swift and making the necessary changes to the assembly line for the facelifted model. Its probably good news for potential Swift customers - you've got a facelift round the corner.

Only Honda would be smiling all the way until 2014 end. They have already tasted success with Amaze and will only be firing in full cylinders with their MPV, Jazz and City diesel.

Its going to be tough time for, Maruti, hyundai, toyota and all since Honda is going to gain market share on their expense.

What matters are domestic sales figures and there Maruti have lost 5.9% year on year while Hyundai have lost 3.6%. So nothing major there.
