Indian buyers’ love for SUVs/Crossovers are so evident if you look at the C2 segment and above. In the C2 and D1 segments, close to 70% of the sales are coming from SUVs, and in the D2 segment its around 95% of the total volume!

Very good analysis. Its strange to see Polo's selling double than Punto's even with the VW A.S.S stories.

Like many of the BHPians who have already highlighted this, What is wrong with Honda & Ford?

Both of them have launched a great product this year (Amaze & Ecospot) and that the delivery queues have just kept getting bigger and bigger.

For Honda, one would have felt that since the City production is halted, they would have concentrated on pushing out Amaze to the extent possible. But no, the deliveries of Amaze came down by over 20% MOM.

Has the Amaze lost its shine, with even the delivery period coming down to within a week in some cities or Has Honda already started the production of the All new City?

Ford for once have got a winner in their product line after a very very long time but the poor delivery times is actually killing them. Even more disturbing is that they have had to stop taking further bookings for such a long time. To add to it the number of cars being delivered have also dropped for Two consecutive months despite having so many bookings.

The Duster-Terrano duo are the ones who will be winning in this situation.

I can't believe that Audi has sold more cars than Fiat this year! On second thoughts, I've got to admit I've probably seen more Audis and Beemers than the Puntos and Lineas in Kerala.

GTO & parrys,
Looks like Merc/Audi/BMW are becoming a strong presence. Can we try to include those numbers too?

I think it is only a temporary bump due to DIWALI sales, and the sales are settling down to 7K per month levels.

Merc & BMW do not share their monthly sales figures.

Cheers!

The 2014 Passat model will be based on Volkswagen's very popular MQB platform and the new model will be launched in 2014. The new model is also expected to get an all-new engine as well. It will be powered by a new biTDI diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 200bhp. The other engines will remain the same 1.4L, 1.8L and 2.0L, which belts out a max power output between 130 and 250bhp.

Happy to see that Ford finally bites the dust with dismal sales numbers of Ecosport. Their dirty strategy to keep Indian customers waiting and filling the pipe of Exports, not only gives them poor sales numbers but also a bad name in the customer's eye. The American management really needs to learn some very basics of Indian Market. Indian Auto Market has taught a lot to big brands and now its Ford's turn.

In my humble opinion, FIAT just doesn't get the numbers it deserves.
Hoping that FIAT sells more cars with their new strategy of going solo. The FIAT exclusive dealerships should surely help the cause.

Warm Regards,
A happy FIAT Linea T-Jet owner.

I full agree to you. They produce awesome cars. They are trying to correct their past mistakes and deserve a turnaround.

Stingray doesn't give much help to Wagon R.
Is there any news available on the number of stingrays sold last month? I could'nt find it from the post.Only WagonR is mentioned everywhere. just curious to know how many numbers they managed to sell that thing. Or is the number given in this post the combined total of WagonR+Stingray?

FIAT is taking every step to turnaround its Indian business. They are offering serious discounts on their complete product range and the dealership experiance has also improved considerably after they have moved out of the Tata's shadow.

Lets hope to see some good numbers from FIAT in 2014.

Cheers

Honda follow the principle "Slow and steady wins the race". They will be very cautious while making capital investments. Even the case is same with Honda Two Wheelers. The waiting period of Honda Activa was always growing but they hiked their production capacities very slowly. I feel the craze for Amaze may come down in coming months. Even Honda may be expecting that, if the demand sustains they will consider ramp up of production capacity.
