Competition is getting tougher for sure. Maruti will not be impacted much immediately for sure. Amaze is under serious threat here. i10Grand sedan is going to eat market share of Amaze for sure. Its hard to take away Maruti customers as they are very loyal to it and mainly wants Maruti only. Not the same case with Amaze. Hyundai can take away lots of customers from Amaze with its quality interiors and styling. But sooner Maruti will also feel heat once Zest is in the market. Lets wait and watch !!! I am excited for sure.

With so many new launches, i am sure in next 5 years we will see our roads are full of all new, different, classy, good looking vehicles from what we have now. I am loving it

Am glad that there is another car that has clean cut lines a la the VW Vento! The edgy styling to me is never ever out of style if done right. That is an extremely proportionate and handsome looking car to me.

Sadly, the front is damn exciting while the rear is just as bland. They should definitely look at filling up that sheet metal area instead of giving it just 2 horizontal creases. And the tail light cluster isn't doing it any favours either.

The rear is a bit bland, but otherwise well put together design. On paper, it looks like a good alternative to the DZire/Amaze.

Rear looks like the Fiat Sienna/ Petra we has in past... but what is intriguing is the absence of Ford logos on steering & seemingly unfinished interiors. If this is intentional, they should have deferred the launch to Autoexpo-2014 where they could have shown the exteriors only & hidden the interiors behind darkest of tints.

Not sure if the outset wheels or the low profile tyres, even the large rear door glass will make it to production.

Any interior shots?

Front profile - Ford Fiesta
Side profile - Ecosport
Rear profile - Chevy Sail.

Good copy paste from FORD. New Design not required

Stunning design except the rear. I really want Ford to do well in India. Their cars have been really solid, especially the Fiesta classic and Figo. Ford should get aggressive with features, price and innovation (a.l.a now touted ezdrive from Maruti, reverse parking, auto parking, good entertainment system with mobile integration). They can give Hyundai and Honda a run for their money in all segments if they get the product right. They made a mess with the new Fiesta, time they make amends and fast.

That rear needs bit more inspiration and LED lights! The interior looks good.

The front end is fantastic but the rear, like all Compact Sedans including the new TATA Zest is totally uninspiring. Time the Government take a re-look at the 4M limitation to make cars more appealingly beautiful.
The title now needs to be edited as the Ford Figo concept.

Brazil gets the longer Figo Sedan. Refer below pics:

But the boot integration in both iterations (Indian Vrs/ as well as Brazilian) is superb .

If you remember, originally it was Ford who started the slap-on boot trend with the Ikon, which was essentially a Fiesta MkIV with add on boot. The Fiesta that followed later in our market had a boot added just for our market. I like Ford's boot integration jobs much better than any other manufacturer.

Even the concept car displayed here has a rear end design which gels with the rest of design language of the car. But there is no ways a sub 4 Meter sedan with seating for 5 passengers be made to look like a normal car. Accept it or not these weird sub 4m contraptions are here to stay.

I really hope Ford retains its "Ford" character in its future offerings, specially the excellent steering feel and the driving dynamics. The Ecosport lost the good steering feel. I hope this doesnt go the same way in the name of catering to the mass market.

I also hope they have changed the dash design. I dont like the dash in both Ecosport and Fiesta.

Do they plan to launch a hatchback version of the same? It would look even better than the sedan if the back side is designed well. I will be most happy to exchange my Figo for such a hatchback.

The Brazilian version really looks good. I wish we could get over this 4 metre thingy.

Meanwhile could we have some more service centres please, and also deliver those Ecosports faster.

This car looks even better than the present Fiesta. If only we did not have the 4000mm opportunity for manufacturers to exploit.

I've never been a fan of compact sedans, but this one is certainly an exception.

It is surprisingly well proportioned, I must say. The stubby boot goes well with the rest of the design. Although it must be said that the boot on its own is quite vanilla and pretty unimaginative.

Somehow, I'd still take the hatch because it looks like the more cohesive design.

Ford must also consider introducing the full Ka / Figo sedan too. The hatch, compact sedan and the saloon should be priced at 5-7, 7-9 and 9-11 (ex showroom) lakhs respectively. If they do not price it aggressively, they might as well grab a few spades and start digging right beside the Fiesta's grave.
