Ahhh!

So no DSG? I hope they don't downgrade the suspensions as they've done for the Octavia TDI! Looks like Skoda is probably trying to keep the costs pretty much the same while giving lesser advancements or downgrading.

No DSG is bad news!

With Yeti they do not have option of offering cheaper torsion beam suspension, atleast in 4x4 variant, where the rear Haldex differential mounted in the center requires some space for mouting only possible with existing independent suspension.

I was hoping with their plans of getting a bigger SUV to the market they would also try to get a de-spec'ed 1.6L variant at a much reduced price. Looks like that may not happen.

All of this will be immaterial if they do not address their A.S.S reputation and general apathy towards customers on a war footing. Given how perception driven the indian market is, it may already be too late for Skoda.

After reading the above posts, no DSG, is simply surprising as a few people i have met, always wanted to get a yeti but were keen on it when its offered with the DSG gearbox.

I guess skoda, just wants to have a presence in this segment, not interested in numbers? as the new octavia and the superb, have got impressive numbers and have a 6 to 12 weeks waiting.

The Skoda Yeti with the DSG should cost somewhere around INR 2.6M on road. Adding 300K more would give you the fortuner, which though lacks the luxuries would give you eternal piece of mind!

No DSG is bad news indeed for the Yeti. The Yeti is a very urban, chic, self driven kind of car. With a price tag of nearly 20L if you don't give an AT option for this category of vehicle you are really not giving it any chance of succeeding in the market.

I don't understand the logic behind such decisions. There is an increasing trend of AT cars even in the hatch back segment! I am sure if Skoda just looked at their own sales figures, they will realise that they are selling more AT cars today than they ever did in the 15+ lakhs space.

Either go all the way with a full technologically loaded Yeti, with all bells and whistles incl DSG box or try to tap into the sub 15L compact SUV space with 1.6L TDI and 1.2 TSI MT + DSG options.

The Yeti is such a nice car. Sad to see it positioned in no man's land like this.

Saw 3 White face lifted Yetis being unloaded about a km away from the dealership in Gurgaon. People who want to have a first look can safely visit the dealership tomorrow. Although I am not too sure about the stockyard location.
