That's true , happened with Amaze as well , the initial waiting period of 6 months for the amaze got reduced to a month or so soon enough , the thing worth applauding though is that Honda was able to clear the backlog effectively for the amaze and is doing the same for the city (which is being sold at insane numbers presently) , Ford on the other hand is killing a potential blockbuster and is a total failure in clearing up the backlog of this very competent mini SUV!

Scorpio is number 1 SUV for the last financial year Kudos to Mahindra for achieving this. It was a very tough task to beat Duster & EcoSport, but M&M did it. Low production of EcoSport has helped Mahindra to achieve this for sure.

In March it sells its highest numbers. I guess April can see more sell considering election time.

Sale of luxury cars is up (for the financial year) according to a TOI report. Mercedes Benz seems to have done very well with a 47% growth.

Skoda: 1300 odd
FIAT: 1500 odd

Two manufacturers of delightful vehicles, vying not to get the wooden spoon - very sad indeed. I'm ignoring HM Mitsubishi for the moment.

Except: (a) Fiat sales are on a steady uptrend for the last 4-5 months (b) Fiat's manufacturing JV with Tata Motors is profitable what with engine supplies to Maruti as well as the Vista+Manza numbers, though there are question marks over both the Tata and the Maruti deals going forward (c) Magneti Marelli, a fiat subsidiary, has almost all of the huge market for AMTs cornered (d) Fiat's sales and ASS reputation is improving albeit slowly.

But: there is such a long way to go for Fiat that I still agree with the 'wooden spoon' figure of speech! Skoda though is, I fear, in very serious though probably undeserved trouble in India. .

I will take the 'undeserved' tag with a pinch of salt. IMHO, Skoda has mastered its own downfall with shoddy ASS experience and consistent part issues in vehicles costing well over 10L. Our country had embraced this brand with open arms when they launched original Octavia and then with Superb and these vehicles would have continued leading their respective segments, if only Skoda could maintain its service standards.

Waiting for the March 2014 : Sales Figures & Analysis. Read somewhere that Cars sales showed signs of picking up in March after the excise duty cut announced in the Budget.

Are all moderators on holiday? Or they are chilling themselves somewhere in this hot summer? Eagerly waiting for the March sales data and experts comments on it

I guess whole Automobile Industry is also waiting for it, surely. Hope it will come up soon
