It is not really forgiveness. I just don't find the need to have a blind sense of entitlement like you do. Simple.
IshaanIan, I agree the term "ergonomic fail" was an over-statement and that was a spur of the moment reaction - I never expected this from Maruti Suzuki, thats all.

Honestly, you said it took some time getting used to, that is what I would call an ergonomic mistake. Good that you like it better now I, as a customer feel I am entitled to the privilege of getting what I deserve - If you are selling a RHD car for a RHD market, modify it to suit the RHD market - ain't that simple. I ain't blind sense sir.

Is it that this variant is available exclusively for fleet operators? Will this come only in the 1.3DDIS variant - Guess this can only be answered at launch....
I don't think Maruti will give it to the fleet operator at the beginning of the life cycle. That was very clear from the way they introduced Dzire tour. This will just be the testing purpose of the roof carrier which may be brought as an accessory.

In here, the case wouldn’t be any different. India’s largest car maker will offer all-new 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines with the S-Cross

The article says "all-new 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines" I get that the multijet motor has not yet come to our shores in its larger guises but which all-new petrol engine might they be talking about? I was under the impression it would be the M16a that's always been used in the SX4 that we had earlier as well. If it is some new type of K-Series motor that would be really sad.

Seriously though, more than waiting for the car, I simply can't wait to try out the 1.6 litre MJD motor Ought to set a benchmark in the diesel segment.

While the unveiling of the S Cross will happen today, production is in full swing at at the Gurgaon plant . Around 600+ units are build and Maruti is ready for a July launch.
Most probably it will have the 1.6 in both petrol and diesel variants, and also the 1.3 in the diesel variant too.

While the S-Cross does look good from the rear, it is the front end that's spoiling the show completely for me. With that droopy front end and those awful twin chrome strips in the grille, the S-Cross lacks the muscularity that we expect from a SUV/crossover.

Its a shame that we still can't buy a stylish crossover with AWD option in India. Think of Nissan Terrano and Ford Ecosport. To me, the Duster isn't stylish (Of course, it is incredibly macho though!). If the upcoming Hyundai Creta doesn't have AWD option, that trend is sadly going to continue. The S-Cross' styling can only be termed acceptable at best.

Another dull styling from Maruti. The rear looks okay but the side profile and specially the front looks awkward in my opinion. Atleast they could have retained the Ciaz facia. Also the bottle holder between handbrake lever and driver is an ergonomic mistake. Overall a pretty ordinary product from the top seller but sadly this will sell in good numbers as well. People in India just can't see flaws in a Maruti.

True but I guess all of us are commenting on the basis of pictures posted on this thread, aren't we? I haven't searched on the internet for this car. So I know nothing more that what has been discussed in this thread. And I do not intend to hurt anyone's feelings through my words. If I've done that by mistake, I'm really sorry.

Default Scoop! Maruti SX4 S-Cross likely to come with Peugeot's DV6 1.6 HDi Diesel

I do agree with some of the posts that the car does look pretty ordinary from the front. The rear is okayish but the front looks very dull, even the Ciaz looks better.

Still, i would wait to see the car in flesh before a verdict. The 1.6 MJD must be fun to drive and am waiting if it can demolish in gear timings of the old VW 1.6 or 1.5 TDi, VW's 1.6 TDi was super quick with zilch lag. Hope the new 1.6 mjd does not suffer from the turbo lag issue prevalent in 1.3.

How much is the ground clearance on this? The stance and clearance does not look that impressive.

Ground clearance of atleast 200 mm should be there as it is a cross when even the Corolla today comes with a 180 mm figure.

I read earlier in this forum that S Cross will be unveiled today at IIFA awards ceremony to be shown on Colors channel. However, a quick browse through the program schedule tells me there is nothing scheduled for today. Therefore I am assuming that the awards will be telecast later. Is there any way of catching the unveiling today?

Sorry about the quality of the pics (obviously taken by IIFA attendees through their cellphones). We will definitely see clearer shots and/or a full unveiling report by tomorrow.

Rear Good. Front Bad. Side OK.
Interior Good.
Will succeed if priced OK. Since it is a Maruti. Any other brand would not be accepted with such an average look today.

Looking at these pics, specially second one, I got reminded of Mitsubishi Outlander. I am sure when we get to actually see the car it will have much smaller dimensions.
