And ive heard GM and TATA are not far behind as GM has decided to kit their 1.6 versions with CNG kits but this will be just a dealer option unlike others, and tata is expected to launch LPG kitted indigo, this might help them find buyers for their slow selling sparkignited mills.

Yes this is pathetic on their part; all articles on the internet say HM has launched the car... but dealers have no clue on it... this is sick...

Sorry, to divert the topic here but i read in Times of India day before that Verna is expected to launch in Nov '06... is this true? as earlier all over the places it is mentioned as Sep '06... sorry for changing the topic but as i am despo to get my new car , i am impatient to get to know about the new options....

Thanks,
Udit

maybe HM is just looking at how the demand for the car is coming up with the news just like GM did with CNG optra.

Even Ford has jumped onthe bandwagon with their IKON.

one question- Whats the Petrol tank capacity of the CNG lancer..???

The reason i ask, coz AFAIK, the Govt does give sops on CNG cars, that may be the reason why the CNG lancer comes cheaper, but to qualify as that, the petrol tank capacity has to be reduced to, like a minimum reseve leve basically, Say 5 ltrs or so. That make the car a city car only and you wont be able to do long distances with it in most cases.

Lancer has a Fuel capacity of 50 litres. If I remember properly the reserve capacity(when the fuel light comes on) is around 10-12 litres.
