Apologize for my rather long post. But I think this is a delayed but good thinking by Toyota. I am currently in Manila, Philippines officially and I am getting a great opportunity to see and feel the Vios first hand. Yes the cab for me is a Vios (too bad i dont get to drive it)

Based on my experience here is some basic feedback. The Vios is available with 2 engine options 1.3 cc 85HP/6,000rpm and 1.5 cc 107HP/6,000rpm petrol. Overall the looks of the car is far better than the Etios twins. I am a six footer and the interior space is on par with Etios (very good). Since I sit at the back I felt the thigh support at the back, poor.

The interior was good, nothing great to write about but again far better than the Etios. The feedback from my driver was that it gave him good mileage 12-14 kms per litre and the power from the 1.3 engine was adequate. In the Philippines the Vios is the most popular Taxi car! Overall the feedback was good.

Here's my 2 cents on Toyota's strategy. Vios will be their product to compete with the Verna, City, Ciaz, Vento, Rapid etc. So what happens to the Etios twins? Well my guess is that the Etios will be tweaked/re-worked and launched as the sub 4 meter compact sedan

Cool Scoop! Toyota Vios - Coming to India?

Last weekend i was driving on Mysore road and suddenly i see a car zoom past me, well not much of camo but the badging was covered with white tapes. It was really flying and had a hard time catching up and suddenly he pulled over and i had to let go.

Pictures are not great but seems like 2015 Vios on it's way to India?

We are surely getting lots of scoops of this car. Looks like Vios is on its way to India.

BTW, I think we already have a thread running on this.

Yes, it happens.
Regarding the car, I think Toyota should give it enough toys and gizmos to make it a success in India. Cars in its segment like City,Verna are versy much loaded. Toyota has a knack of under equipping their cars. Fortuner and Innova are glaring example of that. But with this car they can not afford to do that. Only reliability will not give it much success in our market. They should also offer a 100+BHP petrol in this car atleast on the top end variant. But pricing will be crucial. Probably I'm just giving my wishlist.
