Wishful thinking

Toyota in India have known to raise prices every year with minimum facelifts to both, Fortuners & Innovas. With this upgrade, which is a major one, do expect some high numbers when the price hike comes. But guess what, Toyota Fortuners & Innovas will still blow the sales charts with the high prices, they've successfully done that over the past years and they will continue to do this. The 'T' badge on the grill is the magic

Of course, many do agree including me, Toyota makes good cars. Only question is, why only 'beat' up the Indian customer, with high pricing.

Well to be honest the first pictures with the dark shade didn't evoke much of an emotion but the white one sure made me go weak. Now, there is no doubt in my mind that Toyota have a winner with this one. It should look butch enough in person and also in tune with the times.

Love the interior shade of brown. Good to see paddle shifters, rear disc brakes which should take care of the shortcomings of the previous ones.

Once again I can see at least 6-9 months waiting for the White 4x4 AT when launched 35 lacs OTR price notwithstanding!

Toyota should get this before the new Endeavour/Pajero Sport/Trailblazer hit out shores and then the competition can only live in hope!

P.S. The Pajero Sport looks smashing to say the least in the spy pictures!

Is that a rear brake disc we can see ?
I can't make out, hence asking other viewers.

The rear has drum brakes and not disc brakes. The white thing is the light seen above the drum, through the alloys.

The interiors look classy, especially the brown coloured leather

That's good observation.

But I am disappointed with the omission of rear disc brake.(Wonder what could the reason be, not cost cutting for sure.I mean people will buy the fortuner at any price)

Even though i'm not a fan of the new exterior looks but wow look at that interior! Are you sure its a toyota and not a lexus? That stitched leather wrapping on the interior is right up there in the luxury feels department.
If that loaded spec comes into india, its going to be another slaughter of this segment!

I can see that the manual 4wd transfer level is gone and replaced by shift on fly switches. Fortuner becomes more electronically controlled vehicle.

It also gets VSC (vehicle stability control) and few other electronic gizmos.

Last of the pure breed of mechanical 4WD is dead

Please do comment on what could be these switched marked in red.

The one buttons near the gear lever are for ECO & SPORTS mode.
The one on the dash is for VSC OFF

Am i the only one who finds the central console a downer? Seriously looks like an aftermarket unit that has been plugged in. Absolutely no finesse of a neatly integrated unit, looks like multiple pieces designed separately that have been assembled without any cohesion.

Lately the Japanese have gone crazy with their designs. Look at the interiors of City and Jazz and Corolla and now this Fortuner!

The center portion of the front bumper is protruding out so much that it looks inspired by DC design! I just cannot believe who okay-ed that design!

The rear portion of the upcoming Pajero Sports also looks screwed up!
As if it has been 'lifted'.
Frankly speaking, XUV 500 design now looks very sober.

I think that except VW group, Hyundai, Mazda, Volvo and few others, the rest have gone totally bonkers with their design.

The headlamps on the Fortuner looks inspired by the chef's knife!
After a few years they will be as slim as a Samurai's sword.

Yes I'm very much disappointed with Fortuner and Pajero's exterior styling as well. They've let go of the Butch look for a more feminine curvy feel.

Guess it's going to be good days for the new Ford Endeavour which looks absolutely butch. The right way to style an SUV

Doesnt the dashboard looks as if protruding in the front vision? Seeing the seats and the height of the dash, it does look as if its blocking the vision.

Exclamation Re: New Toyota Fortuner caught on test in Thailand

Fortuner has made me really drool worthy.. I am really really confused. It is now a very thin line and becoming a test of patience for me if I should buy the current gen T-Fort or wait for this new model. Is it really worth the wait? The 6 speed gearbox will surely make me wait for it but still I'm impounding to my purchase..

The Toyota behemoth in silver doesn't look too bad, either:
