Default Urgent Ohc Vtec Query

Hey everyone...

Calling all OHC experts.... Most OHC VTECs I have seen came badged only as CITY VTEC (on the rear). Were there any OHCs at all that were badged as CITY 1.5 VTEC EXi ?

As far as I remember, nope. The best way to identify a VTEC is to pop the hood, and look for VTEC written on the head, on the cam cover. And what looks like a green coloured socket on the left hand side near the intake manifold flange.

Vtecs only come with the "CITY VTEC" badge at the rear (with the HONDA badge on the opposite side).

Here's a pic of my car - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vbpicg...p?do=big&p=215

I think what you might have seen is a 1.5 EXi with an added on VTEC sticker. As Shan2nu & P_H pointed out the OHC came only with an VTEC badge at the back no 1.5 or EXi badging was present. And yes the actual way of surely identifying a VTEC is to pop the hood & look at the engine like P_H said.

Default Other details

Look at dials with blue clor, double barrel silencer, brush aluminium finish in interiors with Alpine audio. These where the cosmetic changes in VTech over 1.5

Is it? Coz i've never seen this. Every "post 2002" model i've seen came with blue background and red needles (instead of white).

GTO, you've got a post 2002 model right?

Look for the following:

1. The 14" enkei alloys.
2. The twin exhaust finishers.
3. The spoiler with center brake light.
4. The 7200 rpm red-line.
5. Pop the hood - the Engine should have a serial starting with B15C2.
6. And surely VTEC logo on head cover.

Yup - the engine's got VTEC etched on it. I've been told that the EARLIEST VTECs (ie manufactured in 2000) came badged like this. I did a google - and sure enough I found links for the earliest reviews for a "Honda - City 1.5 Exi VTEC". Please follow http://nettlinx.com/autos/buycardescription.asp?id=+32 to have a look.

What do you guys make of this?
