Default Re: The curious case of Gujarat's 'green sportscar'

I visited the stall last Friday.

While it was an exciting photo-op for my 4-yr old and all efforts in green mobility are much appreciated, I fear for the occupants' life if this vehicle makes it on the roads. The body can be pressed out of shape by a teenager - worse than the M800 shells of old.

Plus, the whole idea of an "electric racing car for india" is absurd. If you have the money and the tech know-how why dont you take the challenge and come up with an indigenous Tesla challenge!? There is no point using efficient energy in an inefficient manner.

Honestly, the car looks a scam. 1000km in one charge for a 29kWh battery pack and for a car that weighs 1000kgs? Are you kidding me? I have been working with EVs for the past 1 year, both as a part of college project and Internship, I can safely say that to achieve that range, they need atleast 150kWh battery pack for a 1000kg car.
So, this is just a scam and nothing else. Although I was wondering, will India welcome an electric sports car that actually delivers a sports car performance (say 0-100 in 3 seconds) while also having a high range of around 400km and is priced around 50-60 lakhs? More importantly, it is not a scam and the car is actual quality, will Indians buy such a car?

Clearly looks overdone. Probably to rival the looks of supercar giants like Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.
By the way, this was my final year engineering project- a hybrid car.
I feel proud of it now, especially after going through this thread
