Default Mumbai: Ford inaugurates 4th A.S.S.E.T Center

Aimed to create a pool of talented and skilled professionals for the automobile industry; Ford India today inaugurated its fourth Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) Centre at St Joseph's Industrial Training Institute in collaboration with Don Bosco Centre for Learning in Kurla, Mumbai.

Through this initiative, Ford has set up an exclusive technical training corner to train students on Ford technology as part of Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV) curriculum.

Ensuring the sustenance of the program, Ford's technical training collaboration includes exclusive Train-The-Trainer (TTT) sessions for institute lecturers as well.

The ASSET training facility will be a tri-party initiative involving Ford, the dealer and the ITI. The dealerships will give an opportunity of on-the-job training to the students with Ford vehicles at the dealer workshops.

Overall a good initiative by Ford to develop skills in the Automotive sector.

Now does this mean newly trained technicians will try their hands on customer vehicles that come in for service at that dealer's workshop (read "on-site training")?
