Ritz to be discontinued to make way for yra?

Presently ritz offers more space, but costs less than swift. Maruti may be thinking that people who want some extra space than swift have to go for the pricier yra instead of ritz.

About time, to be honest. The facelifted Ritz never really took off, did it?

The article mentions that the Swift would take the Ritz' spot. I'm assuming they mean from a pricing point. A reduction in prices would mean there would be more takers for the Swift.

What would be interesting to see is (and I've mentioned this elsewhere on some other thread too) how Maruti manages to structure their product portfolio. As of now, they have a car for every 50-80k extra that you can shell out.

For them to see volumes, the YRA and the Across should be sub 10L offerings.

PS: Hey Maruti, while you're at it - Swift with a tuned K14? Please?

Cheers!

New Duster starts at 7.99L for the petrol version. Definitely, to garner volume from it, Maruti should start the Across petrol variant at 7L - 7.2L, ie, along with Ciaz.

Also, i20 starts around 5.2L. So, yra should start at 5L, ie, at a 40-50K premium over Swift.

It is better not to get too excited about concept models from Suzuki. They have the talent to dilute all the 'wow' factors down to a 'meh'.

Case in point, the design of the new Ciaz concept looked really pleasing when it was introduced during the auto expo. But honestly, how many of us hardly give a second glance to the production version running on the roads?

While I love the back view of the IK-2, which reminds me of the Chevy Oprta SR-V (a true sporty look for a hatchback IMO), I am highly skeptical of what the production version is going to look like.

Suzuki's Mini CUV iM-4 gets approval for production. To appear in 2018, a year after the New Swift will debut.
Quote:
Itíll arrive in 2018 with a starting price of around £11,000 with two- or four-wheel drive, and will be powered by a range of naturally aspirated and new turbocharged petrol engines.
Quote:
The iM-4 will partner Suzukiís new Celerio city car at the bottom end of its model line-up. Itíll be an a-segment crossover with the only real competition coming from the Fiat Panda 4x4.
Quote:
iM-4 is almost production ready and said that there will be very few changes to the Geneva concept carís styling. The car is designed to bear little resemblance to other cars in Suzukiís range, instead looking backwards to Suzukiís heritage.
Quote:
Under the bonnet will be Suzukiís fuel-sipping 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine as recently revealed in the Swift, and a brand new 1.0-litre turbocharged ĎBoosterjetí petrol. Suzuki hasnít ruled out offering mild and full hybrid power
The iK-2 hatchback has also got the go ahead and will be revealed in January 2016.
Slightly larger than the Swift, it aims to address all the problems prospective buyers complain about the current Swift Ė namely lack of rear leg and boot space.
Itíll also use the 1.2-litre Dualjet and possibly a 1.2-litre version of the Boosterjet set to appear in the iX-4 crossover

"Maruti Suzuki Registers 'XBEE', Rumoured to be iM-4".

It seems like, at last, Maruti registered a name that is easy to the ears. Has an 'SUV' feel to it, IMO.
