Self driven MUV - Rental - Team-BHP

Does anyone know if I can hire a self driven MUV in Bangalore? I plan to go on a trip to Coonoor - Ooty and want to take another family with me. My Accent is not big enough. I have been looking for Qualis/Innova to hire for the trip but don't want their driver.

Cehcked Hertz, Rent-a-car and Avis - they rent out only Indica/Santro/Ikon on self drive. That's no good for me.

Any info would be highly appreciated.

Hey Rover... Used to hire cars from Hertz a couple of years back and was very interested in hiring the Safaris that they had rented to Windsor Manor at that time. I got to know that there apparently is a restriction from the RTO on the "Size" of the self-driven vehicle that can be rented. The biggest allowable cars are mid-sized cars, I've seen quite a few black&yellow number plated MUVs however I seriously doubt if you can rent one though.

A company called "Auto Car" in Indranagar also rents out self-driven cars, I guess you can try your luck with them. Sorry I don't have their number but you call the Yellow Pages number on 080-1947 for it. Hope it helps!!!

Thanks guys for your inputs. Here is what I learnt. Auto Rider will only hire out Indica or Ikon.

A2BCarsIndia suggested by Zenx hires out Qualis and the rates are reasonable. They have daily and weekend packages. Will update my experience if I am able to hire from them (a trip to SE Asia is coming up during the planned holiday).

Hi,

i am interested in Hiring a car for a weekend. Have you used their service? Does anybody know any rental agency in Bangalore (other than Hertz which is too premium) for getting cars (esteem/ikon) for a weekend drive (self driven). can their cars be taken out of Karnataka?
