Official bookings to start on 4th August.

AT is not a 4-speed. The automatic option is rather better than the one available on even the Elantra.

Glad to hear that Hyundai is finally letting go of the 4 Speed AT for the Verna. Wonder if 'better than the one in the Elantra' (which has the 6 speed Torque Converter Unit) means a Dual Clutch. A quick search shows the Hyundai DCT used across several of its models.

On the down side, just a search for Hyundai DCT threw up the following results most of the top 5 results are 'problems and issues with DCT'. Looks like no one can master the DCT and promise a trouble free gearbox

Exactly. Search of Ford DCT also yeilds similar results.

My guess is it would be a 6 speed torque converter with some additional driving modes.

Must say that the upcoming Verna looks really plain jane and downright bad from certain angles. Much disappointed, since the last few fluid launches from Hyundai have managed to turn heads without fail. Their bread and butter mid size sedan model needed a much needed refresh, and certainly not a regressive design direction like this one. Mechanically, nothing much seems to have changed, so the least they could have done was to improve the design.

Thanks for update. Last part says assured early delivery. The commercial doesn't even allow a peak into the interior of the Next Gen Verna. I guess Hyundai is so tight-lipped about the features.

Price for Petrol AT top end expected to be 13 to 14 Lakhs and for Diesel AT top end 15 to 16 Lakhs is the info from dealer side. The dealer says topend AT will be mostly priced 1 lakh more than the current price

I feel it is definitely more than the market leader Ciaz variant wise. I wish Hyundai prices it competitively or they may loose out on the moolah in the festive season

I am not able to find SX(O) Diesel AT variant at https://bookonline.hyundai.co.in/?ut...=Verna_Aug2017

Petrol SX(O) AT is listed and I hope Hyundai isn't planning to skip the fully loaded diesel AT this time. I had prebooked the SX(O) Diesel AT and it looks like Hyundai isn't going to meet my requirement

If u see my previous post i got a similar information. Petrol top end will be fully loaded to the brim. Deisel topend variant be mostly SX to control the price range they quote on launch.

Yes, it looks like you were right. It has turned out to be a bummer for me as the petrol engine from Hyundai is going to be average at best. Hyundai's variant strategy is frustrating to say the least - earlier with Creta and now Verna.

Thats a bummer just checked the website and I am really disappointed in hyundai's strategy with giving less features in the auto diesel models. The least they could do is give us an option to buy a fully loaded auto diesel because in my opinion keeping the price low for top spec does not make sense as its the range starting price which matters for marketing purposes.

I hope they launch it later as they did some upgrades with the creta by giving 17 inch wheels and leather steering wheel standard in the auto diesel almost after a year of its launch.

I too checked and that's right, no AT on the top end diesel.
Some people never learn.

Online booking enabled in hyundai website. You can click on Next Gen Verna and Fuel type to see the corresponding variants. No SX(O) in diesel AT indeed. There is a SX+ in auto diesel which may in all chance may not have 6 airbags and Ventilated seats. Enclosing screenshot taken from my phone.
