ACI has given some nice spy pics and I am very happy to see those pics. It gives us a hint of how good the next generation Indica would be.

It sure looks far better from the current car.

Everyone's jumping to conclusions based on nothing more than the LOOKS

When it first came out, the current Indica was (still is, for many foreigners) quite a looker. So shouldnt it have been a great car too?

@steer: Because looks are all we have to go by currently. And besides, if the current kinks are ironed out, this one would be as good as it looks.

Default Indica V3 Update

There's a report in today's Business Standard regarding the upcoming Indica V3.
Looks like they'll first launch the car in Europe. Indian launch is to take place after 2 years.
Here's the link:

Will 2 years not be too late? Most of other car manufacturers would have their cars by than. they should hurry if they are serious about it.

I don't think it will take that long time to hit the indian roads. The SWIFT D is already getting popular day by day , and TATA should revamp its INDICA range to be ahead of competitors.

So Tata is going to use the European's this time as guinea pigs.

Any news on the launch date of the all new Indica V3?
With the V3, will the V2 XETA be phased out?

Are the X1 and V3 the same?

I agree with you Steeroid. The current Indica when came out was a stunnder and still has not lost its image of its design. I feel it could have done for another 3 to 5 years. Its nice to see new designs coming up from Tata and hope to see a much better Indica V3, at least fromt the technical side.

Well I have seen the V3 a couple of times being tested in and around chinchwad(pune).
I dont have a camera else would have posted the pics.
The car sure is a good looker with front headlamps akin to a Peugot and the rear more or less like the fusion.

Regarding the Launch I too am on the lookout for that answer.

one of my friends went to ranjangaon fiat factory this monday and he told me on that day a function was held at the plant and fiat supplied first engine to tata. If the new assembly line of tata is ready then tata may roll out this car in a couple of weeks.

The reason I ask this, is because I am considering the Indica V2 XETA, and am unsure if TATA's will phase her out, with the launch of the all new V3.

The positioning of the instrument cluster (if centrally mounted) in the V3 is certainly going to be a BIG deciding factor here. If they do, then the V3's out for me. I personally look at this as a safety hazard.

Anyway, I am ONLY interested in their 1.2L VVT petrol engine. I just hope that they don't phase out their existing XETA's, 'cause I truly think they are VFM.

Buddy as of what i know im sure the Indica X1 will come with centrally mounted instrument cluster. Since Tata is planning big plans for X1 export.
I think they will continue the Xeta along with the X1. I hope they launch it soon !
