Pre-production batch excuse.

Whats this obsession with high waistlines. Mr Tata's designers doesn't look like having taken inspiration from cars.

I hope to see the Current Indica continuing to sell for years to come, after all it was I.D.E.A at work.
The V3 is an IDEA design too. Check this 2004 report:

That report says IDEA is onvolved in the design. Does not say to what extent is its involvement. Unlike the last Indica which was totally "done" by IDEA.

Its like when you teach a child first, you show him/her. Then you expect the child to do something with your involvement with it.

So we dont yet know the extent to which we can say this to be IDEA designed, especially with its horrible waistline.

If you dont call this fast then i dont know what will be?

It can be called poor product cycle mangement. Take a look at how many years Sumo, old "Xenon line" etc stagnated in the market, and now all come in a big gush. I wish them the best though, as always.

The last Indica was totally designed by ITALDESIGN and not IDEA.

IDEA designed the (original) Safari.

Sorry - my mistake. It was IAD that designed the Safari, not IDEA.

And now I have my doubts - was it Italdesign or IDEA behind the Indica?????

That was kind of very funny, reading the posts in sequence.

IDEA designed the Indica. Infact Tata's chose from a couple of designs they did for the car. The one with a design continuity that will allow future evolutions was chosen.

Now I am beginning to get worried for the Safari, because I dont want to see anything not-based on the Xenon design as its replacement.

No way and I am waiting for Xenon to be launched in the market. I absolutely love it and it looks a hell lot better than the Scorpio Getaway.

Even the old Indica wasn't a 100% IDEA design. ERC cab design guys were involved right from the beginning. Ratan Tata himself had contributed to the design by getting alterations done here and there.

Just because the designers are Italians doesn't mean they'll produce a classic every time.

Eggjectly. They also made a tower, except it leaned.

And they made my erstwhile Alfa Romeo.

Yeah, the Safari was done by IAD in the UK.

IIRC, IDEA was involved in Indica, as they were in either Bravo/Brava or Palio. And, if you ask me, look similar dont they.

Oh, before you crucify me, no sources for that info. remember reading in one of the autoMAG's more than 10 years ago..(Gosh.. 10 years already..)

Cheers

Default Spotted an Indica V3

I spotted a silver Indica V3 today near Mekhri circle with an MH registration (red board). It felt a lot bigger than the V2. Looks wise, it was almost like a Ford Fusion from the rear. It had an S**** badging at the rear. I couldn't tell exactly what the badging was from the distance.

Any clarity on it's launch date?
