There is no need for a poll here mate. The price is pretty much going to be around the same as the c-class.

No big deal the price is going to be around 25-30 lakhs. Right where the C is priced.

I wish too but the import duties won't let them do that. And the numbers are not there for local production of high-end, high-quality cars in India for BMW. Maybe after a few years but not right now.

Comparable Beemers have always been pegged about 15% lower than Merc models. Audi is lower than that.

There are a vast range of models in the 3 series line-up all the way from 318i up to the mighty (forthcoming) M3. Optional extras can also cost a lot (leather seats, satnav, hifi, sunroof etc.)

Can someone please tell me which are the specific models being introduced in the Indian market?

The 320 and 320d are being speculated.
However these 'optional extras' that you mentioned usually come standard on luxury cars in India. The trend of adding options doesnt really exist coz every luxury car has leather, sunroof, alloys as the basic std features.

See this financial express article

http://www.financialexpress.com/fe_f...tent_id=139977

BMW is going to make 1000 cars. That's all!! With this low production, they can afford to price their cars high because they don't have many to sell to start with

BMW would surely price it a nudge lower than the C Class. Butttttttttttttt the new 3 series looks like crap (IMHO). Why do they have to be so weird looking?

26 for the petrol and 27.5-28 for the 2.0L diesel (ex showroom)...

And this is for the absolute base model without any options.

Well, Mercedes learnt the tough way that base versions are not the right way to go.....in the premium segments. Thats why the C Class is now only available fully loaded (sunroof, alloys et all). Ditto with the E Class.

I would think the Honda Accord (with its standard leather, alloys etc) had a role to play in this.
